Have any TLDs other than .com every really been worth it?
With maybe .net back in the day?
|
The country specific ones if you're targeting that country yep. es, fr, de etc.....
alot of .co.uks aswell as you know its aimed at the uk rather than us market. but globably not really. |
Hmmmmm...
Not 'REALLY'... .co.uk's perhaps, but only when accompanied by the .com |
Well there not worth as much as .com's of coarse,
but they still have good value depending on the keywords/brandability/ and ability to develop. |
.co.uk did cross my mind but then I realized that even I didn't own any of those and I live in the UK
|
.info if you're a spammer that needs throwaway domains, godaddy regularly sells these for 99c

You can buy them for $0.99 now, but there are two catches... firstly there's an additional $0.20 ICANN fee (which isn't much by itself, but that's a +20% increase on the advertised price), secondly it renews at something like $10... more if you registered several and chose the free privacy. |
Yes. Google pays more and more attention to teaming up local tld's with their local search engines.

yeah, like others mentioned country code tlds can be great. de, co.uk, ca, etc. Though .us never took off. There are so many new tlds now, its all pointless. When .mobi came out i spent five figures on them thinking they would blow up but it didnt happen. now there is .me, .tel, .asia and a bunch more i can't think of. .me might have some staying power...might but with icann opening the doors to unlimited .whatever i have a feeling most will be forgotten besides .com.
