KB back again ...live at The World Famous Improv
Good job, KB!
It takes huge balls to get on stage, my man - keep it up!!!! Great to see everyone that came out for the show ... another fun night! :thumbsup:thumbsup |
It definitely takes balls to get up there. Especially with no funny material.
I know he's your buddy and all, but come on. |

Can someone role that clip off The Princess Bride where the old hag comes out and says:
Boooo ... Boooo... Boooo.. :thumbsup |
|
Great times last night! Mad props to the PimpMansion guys, Matt and Sharky, you guys after partied with us at Bardot and had a blast. Not sure if you guys noticed the celebs there but I saw tons.
|
Good stage voice and presence, and good pacing. :thumbsup
I didn't see your whole routine, but I think anecdotal and longer narrative stories about some of your crazy experiences, and things which you have seen in the biz, would hold up well. Finally, I loved the joke about Chyna's clit (paraphrased): "You know how the clitoris is sometimes referred to as the little man in a rowboat? Well, in Chyna's case, it's more like Lou Ferrigno in a fucking lifeboat." :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh ADG |
Saw that on facebook this morning. Pretty good

KB is branching out :thumbsup

Well done KB... And as for you dipshit haters, if you where not behind your computer screen in the comfort of your mom's basement none of you would say shit.:2 cents:

KB did great last night.
The behind the scenes on KB turning into a comic is this. He's learning as he goes. Last time he came out all fired up (nervous energy) and he killed it. This time he was trying to be more poised, less fired up. I think his crowd was much better the last time, it was a full house, this time he had half the crowd size because they moved the time to 8:00 pm instead of 9:00 pm. The toughest spot in the night for a comedian is the opening. The crowd is stiff, they need to be worked. It takes major balls to get up on stage at the Improv, so I give him major props. Do I sound like a brother defending his brother? LOL |

I'm definitely not one to blow smoke up KB's ass. As a friend I'm brutally honest with him. I really don't pull any punches. He'd admit that in a second. Thing is, KB's a very funny guy - I've had some of the greatest laughs of my life with him. IMHO, if he sticks with it he will grow and get better. Might even turn into a good sideline for him. As a friend, I'll encourage that. |
I like making fun of KB... its a little unfair to criticize this. It takes balls to get up on the stage at the Improv and let it all hang out. Any comedian will tell you guys that it takes years to work out an act / routine and to find what works. Years.
KB above all things is very comfortable on stage and it shows. The rest will come together if that's truly what he wants to pursue and work on. |
Which Improv was this at? City?
|
was good time.. I didnt see anyone in the club cause i couldnt see straight.. lol
I had been drinking since 2pm with no breaks.. good to see u guys again b4 I head back.. see u all in vegas |
Good stuff KB. That stand-up stuff is tougher than it looks.
|
i think what PleasurePays says is true - he has good stage presence, sounds like a pro - but you can hear it's a dead or sparse audience and the material isn't great. i'd work up some longer material than the quick smartass jokes.

I think what sucks is all the people (friends?) who will come in and blow smoke up your ass. I know my friends wouldn't pull that shit on me. I'd at least want the honest truth and not just blind praise because I'm your bro. |
kevin- you have a great comedian name- kevin blatt!
hi i'm kevin blatt! kvn bltt! |
Definitely held his own.
Like it was said before, incorporating the crazy shit you've seen and done in the industry would do great. You are always better when you are wired so I think that got lost in this clip. There are only two speeds in good comedy, over the top and the low down. Don't sit in the middle! |
I keep telling KB to tell real stories as a porn industry guy. His real stories are way funnier. In a group of people, he tells stories and has everyone laughing their ass off, but on stage, he's writing material as a comic. Just tell the real stories, add a punch line at the end and it would kill.
But still, there were 2 comedians last night that weren't as good as KB. So if you consider that's their full time gig and KB was much better, he's got potential. |

Thanks for the kudos and criticism.
I can take it all believe me. I have WAY better material that I didn't do because of the audience being so dead- I have a feeling I could have farted out a candle on stage last night and the silence would have been deafening. It's all part of the game. The good thing is that we will have beeter line ups in the future, and also keep in mind....I am the PROMOTER along with Sam Tripoli. I am co producer, and doing stand up is just a built in priviledge I get to try to do my own thing. Look, I surely could take the easy way out and do open mike night at a coffee shop in Cleveland. But I didn't. I am a person who believes in going big or going home. Doing stand up on the same very stage that Seinfeld, Robin Williams, Drew Carey, Jim Carey, and Sam Kinsion all cut their teeth on is really what gets your dick hard. It kind of fucks with your head while you are up there looking at pictures of George Carlin standing in the same spot I am standing on either getting laughs or in last night's case...a few crickets. I wasn't anywhere near my best, and I know gthe next time you see a clip of me you will all say " Damn he actually listened to his friends and his family and now he is killing it!" Anyone that knows me knows that I can take it more than I can dish it out. I will never be discouraged or quit. I know I got it. Even the head of Comedy Central told me last night, " You have stage presence, and I love your stories, incorporate your stories into the act and take the audience on a funny trip" I plan on taking the audience to DISNEYFUCKINGLAND next time! BIG thanks to everyone who came out last night to support the cause Sharky and Matt from PIMPMANSION.COM XBIZ Steve and Anna J$tyle$ Hollywood Horwitz Maurice from Freeones.com Jew Hefner!! Trisha Uptown Puma Swede Nikki Benz Jenny Flame AKA Penny Flame and last but not least D$ and my beautiful princess Aaliyahlove.com http://www.aaliyahlove.com I am the luckiest man alive to have such a wonderful and supportive GF like her. She braved some serious traffic to get there on time for me. She is my biggest fan and best inspiration to look at in the front row of my shows! I love you so much! |
KB,
Looking good, keep up the good work / laughs It's a tough biz and act - as others have said you gotta have balls to get on stage and be judged by totally unknown people... |
KB, you did good forget the haters. The crowd was indeed dead, but i had a great time. Like was said earlier, there were a couple guys who couldn't pull a single laugh there, and YOU DID!
I really appreciate the invite and look forward to seeing you perform again! |

That being said, doing comedy is a little different than just trying to be famous for it's own sake and it does take a huge sack to get on a stage in front of a bunch of people and try to make them laugh, and some people just feel driven to do that, maybe KB is one of them. So good job. It's kind of like fighting MMA, you win as soon as you show the balls to get in the cage. |
Props to KB! Being naturally funny takes on a whole new spin when you gotta do it live in front of a crowd. It takes a lot of guts to get on stage, let alone on one in a famous place on Sunset Strip! Maybe we'll see more of comedy KB opening at future Players Balls?
|
I thought KB did OK. It takes alot of balls to get up there.
|
Props to KB... it takes huge balls to get on stage and he is improving.
KB -- Wish I could have made it but I have a trial prep thats killing me.... next month without question. |
