Carmine Raguso 05-21-2009 02:42 PM

Holy shit, the basis of that verdict could open the internet up a giant can of worms.

Very frivolous

Brujah 05-21-2009 02:45 PM

Ridiculous.

NaughtyRob 05-21-2009 02:53 PM

gornyhuy 05-21-2009 03:21 PM

Jesus. And I spent close to $100k with high priced lawyers trying to get a legit technology patent pushed through and couldn't get it past the fucking examiners.

Mutt 05-21-2009 03:26 PM

insanity - can't blame the judge, blame the idiots at the Patent Office for handing out such an absurd patent.

JD 05-21-2009 05:52 PM

MaDalton 05-21-2009 06:00 PM

Need to blame the patent office and Yahoo's inability to show prior art. The judge just is supposed to follow/interpret the law.

collegeboobies 05-21-2009 06:18 PM

Article does not give enough information to make a statement either way. Just says yahoo's lawyers are potentially considering one.

Who thought they were out for the count?
Guessing because some have not heard from them in a couple years since a couple companies settled, most others laughed and acted like typical selfish asses as always, while homegrown (and those that sent them money) to this day still fights them over that 1 patent - which they hold many such patents.

Yes, and unlike the last time around where they employed the "shotgun" approach, this time they concentrated all their fire at Yahoo. They know that once a judgement has been won and defended against a large player like Yahoo, the precedent will be set and they'll be able to then rape all the small players.
