Having the fan cranked will cause the fan to die pretty quick, they have el-cheapo fans built on. |

I've got the 9800GT and have over heating issues with it too.
It will make my game freeze for a bit and have the nvlddmkm error. I fixed it by opening the case and sticking a fan to blow right on it when I'm gonna play Left 4 Dead. I don't know how else to fix it as its just a Gateway case. The fan on the card is utter shit |
I have a HAF 932 case. I am going to invest in four 120mm fans from NewEgg.com. That should give me some better airflow to the card.

I just played for 2 hours and it seems to be okay now.

I've got the EVGA 9800GTX+ 1GB, and it works like a dream for me - it is a beast of a card in dimensions though.

You can also open up dump files created when you get blue screens. I forgot which program to use for that, it's from MS but it pretty much tells you what caused the crash most of the time. |
