What's the reason that some CCBill sites don't accept Visa cards?

I have noticed that some ccbill paysites don't accept visa cards. What's the reason?

WarChild 05-17-2009 12:09 PM

Because they're two-bit and won't or can't pay the Visa registration fee.

ShamelessAngel 05-17-2009 12:13 PM

They don't want to pay the 750$ to activate visa approval

They will give you 750 reasons why

you'll see them using ticketsclub

right (in most cases)

actually i was thinking the same, but it was very strange for me. revenue loses should be bigger than these 750 bucks.
i remind a few programs using this approach which have a few not so cheap sites and some traffic.

Or they are Australian webmasters and cannot use Visa through CCBill only Mastercard. If they're Aussie, it's got nothing to do with the $750 fee, we simply have no choice and cannot use them.

:2 cents:

Or CCB is not their main processor on cascade, or countless other reasons.

and that's an answer i was looking for
it was really too strange to think that some programs try to save on this

A large number of people do not even use their credit cards or have one. They use debit cards and in the US at very least, most debits are Visa based.

Visa has bigger share than MC. and what's the reason to any lose potential sales or create such 'obstacles'. those who want to buy should do it as simply as possible.

MediaGuy 05-17-2009 02:12 PM

Sometimes it just takes forever for VISA to get around to reviewing and approving a site.

Unlike other CC companies, VISA doesn't let third-party approve for them, so once, say, the initial CCBill approval goes through, it's VISA's turn, and that can take anywhere from one to seven weeks (that was the longest I've seen it yet).

:D

Exactly.

My bank issues MC CC/Debit.

I think all my cards, except for business VISA, are MC come to think of it.

That, among other good reasons, is why you have more than ONE processor.

why is visa problem in australia? i also saw they are using gmbill, so i was wondering why ...

Calico Jack 05-17-2009 03:18 PM

Canadian webmasters have only been able to process is through CCBill for less than a year now, so we're still keeping our fingers crosses.
I may be wrong here, but I think Visa divides the world up into sections and Australia falls under 'Asia/Pacific' so for whatever reason, we just can't use them unless we incorporate overseas.
Perhaps someone who knows the reality of the situation can clarify this or explain better than I can.
All I

candyflip 05-17-2009 07:33 PM

Could be that they're still waiting on approval. I know when I add a new site it's able to process MC immediately, but it's usually a week to two weeks at this point for them to get approval from Visa.

But it's more likely they're cheap fucks.
