If you could live in any time period
 

any time period of your choosing, except you could only go backwards... not into the future, and you don't have the benefit of keeping any of the current technology knowledge... would you? And if so, which time period would you choose and why?

I think we take alot of stuff today for granted.... our big screen tvs, satellite communications and microwave ovens.... but at the same time, I think living back in the 1700's or something must not been a whole lotta fun either. Don't think I would choose to go back even if I could.

go BACK in time and have to actually Work Hard?? Milking cows or working in a field or something?

I wouldn't want to live anytime before the invention of penicillin.

I would want to be a noble in Japan during the Heian period around 900A.D. I can have as many black-teethed wives as I want (dying your teeth back black back then was considered fashionable by the upper class).

I think you can still do that in parts of appalacia.

At that point in history where Christians begin arriving in Pagan Northen Europe. The death of European paganism. Vikings still kicking ass. Rome is still on the scene. The merging of two very distinct European cultures. The birth pangs of the Renaissance.

If I could live without my computers, I'd go for a few different periods. Of course, for most people, that would mean living in horrible abject poverty... but the best of those times is better than the best of the present.

3. U.S. During the late 1800's - early 1900's...the birth of the Industrial age...knowing the likes of J. Paul Getty, John D Rockefeller....

Definitely the 1960's! No AIDS, cool cars, cool music and No AIDS. I couldn't go back too far in time because showers and plumbing are waaaaay too important to give up. I will trade all of this tech stuff for the time when sex with someone you just met in a club wouldn't kill you.
