Why is new wave like Modern Talking and 80's so popular in Eastern Europe?
 

I like the old 80's New Wave and pop groups/artists like Bad Boys Blue, Modern Talking, Samantha Fox, Sandra Cretu but they never go on tour in the U.S. I guess it's because they aren't that popular here, but whenever I check their tour schedules on-line they are ALWAYS doing tours in Eastern Euro countries like Poland and Lithuania etc..

Is New Wave and 80's Euro pop super popular over there?

I noticed Bad Boys Blue and Modern Talking are still huge in Eastern Europe... Why is that?

I'm pretty sure anything related to the 80's is dead for good reasons here in America.

Other than having 2-3 shirts on all with the collars up, that is still fly of course.

Dschinghis Khan from West Germany like Modern Talking, CC Catch, Samanta Fox. Was very\very popular in USSR and Eastern Europe

and Kraftwerk from West Germany, of course, but it isn't "new wave"...

I like new wave genra.

I also really like Sandra Cretu, In The Heat of the Night etc

She was very pretty back in the 90's...

Modern Talking/Bad Boys Blue was also very popular with asian people in California in the 90's... I don't think the asian kids today listen to it anymore but they used to in the 90's... a lot... this may sound funny but a lot of asian gangstas used to listen to Modern Taling/Bad Boys Blue/Sandra :1orglaugh it was their anthem...

that lesbo S Fox was 2 years ago in my shity country where probably nobody likes her :)

because we had communism here, and it was illegal music, you can had serious problem listening to the music. so, many people was trading and selling and buying the music on black markets and if you had the music, you was mr somebody! :) and if you was looking like some of the singer or player, you was god! :) so, its for nostalgic reasons for sure :winkwink:
