Anybody here running Urchin 4?
 

I have a problem with my Urchin 4 installation. (For everybody who doesnt know what it is, it's a log analyzer that gives you detailed traffic stats).

I have played around with these 2 settings in Reporting Options:

"Process DNS" and "Process Paths".

I had both off before. Urching was processing logs fast (1-2 Minutes) but I couldnt see detailed stats to pages (e.g. join.html etc.). So I put Process Paths on with a depth of "2". Kept "Process DNS" off. Now it takes like 48 hours to run one processing session Urchin tech email takes ages to answer. Anybody here have an idea?

I just want to see stats within a couple mins and I would like to see hits to individual pages.

We ran the trial, and for unknown reasons it was a huge hog. It brought the server to its knees a few times for 8 hours or so until I noticed..

Not a well designed piece of software. It was so hard on our (p4 1.6, 1gig ram) box that I think it would need another box just for itself.

Not recommended, although I know other people use it and like it.

seems like a great software though. Wonder if there's a 'trick'. A couple people analize millions of uniques a day and seem to do ok.
