I am surprised that some of you ultra liberals have not responded to this action by the President.

Americans are so sheepy. Because the press talks about waterboarding and how bad it is, they all jump on the bangwagon and say it's the devil. I wonder what % of Americans would have supported waterboarding and other hardcore methods of interrogation on say, September 11th of 2001.

I didn't see where it said he was going to keep them at Gitmo.. and at that, it's not Gitmo people have a problem with, it's torture.

I'm sure some liberals will have a problem with this, but most wouldn't. He is making the system a bit more fair, not including proven false evidence taken from torture. That isn't to say, torture doesn't produce results to protect us, but to use it against a person - that's fucking insane for ANYONE...

If the 'right' like it or not, these people deserve trials... fair trials, with paid lawyers, paid for by Americans. We have the jails to house the most dangerous, separated, terrorists/extreme people in the world, these guys are no different.

I shouldn't have been captured alive.. If I was, I was either sleeping or gave up, one of which isn't an option.

For some reason if you were captured, or your son was actually captured I have a feeling you'd see things differently.

I'm all for water boarding or torture in general. I just don't like this flip-flopping or skirting around the issue.

If my little girl went into the Military, and went to "WAR"... I would expect her, the leaders and other troops to act how they should... period.

That's the problem with this... They aren't water boarding, ONLY terrorists, but innocent people too. That they let go, as innocent.

Hypocrisy is the act of being less critical of oneself than of others. A well-known example is the smoker criticising someone else for smoking.

Not once did I say it's fine to torture anyone, or torture one person over another. That would be Hypocrisy.

We don't need courts, cameras, etc.. we just need a translator, so we can 'talk' to them. Most PoW's, in these current wars, give up due to hunger and fear. They give up, that's the key. We don't need to beat them, water board them.. that doesn't mean we are nice to them, but that isn't torture.

And wanting to "kill" someone that hurt my kid directly, is about as far from Hypocrisy as one can get. I wouldn't want to torture innocent people along the way, that's the factor you seem to be missing.
