How much are you paying for each year per domain

How much are you paying for each year per domain to your domain registrar?
We are paying $10 a domain for 1yr and I think there are better deals available...

Nicky 05-14-2009 10:12 AM

I'm paying $8-10, have several registrars.

DaddyHalbucks 05-14-2009 10:18 AM

I pay around $8 here:

http://www.moniker.com

But, price is only part of the consideration. You also want good customer service and security, and Moniker is known for their quality.

:thumbsup

Domain Diva 05-14-2009 10:19 AM

Si 05-14-2009 02:59 PM

$7

........

d-null 05-14-2009 03:12 PM

domain privacy should be free :2 cents:

move your domains around if you have to, it is not a big deal, I mainly move mine between godaddy and namecheap, and you should never pay more than around $8 a domain

Yngwie 05-14-2009 03:23 PM

count yourself lucky.. When I started in this business I was paying $75/year. This is why, at this point, $10/year is nothing.

$8.81 @ namecheap.com (because I have all those nifty options)
but I can register also at $6.50 but do not have all those options that I have at NameCheap...

you cant get 6.50 anywhere
verisign fee is around 6.95 now + 20cents to icann

thus wholesale prices are around 7.15 or so.
I believe prices are going up later this year by another 30-40cents.

As Yngwie said earlier ,domains cost over $70 + each at one time.... now they cost less than a mcdonalds happy meal ...same goes for hosting/bandwidth ...the internet just keeps growing and catering for the masses :thumbsup

With that in mind ......Domains will continue to remain a good investment and only increase in value over time.

Remember its like real estate(land).....there are not making any more .coms :winkwink::) once you have a name its unique.

400 might be a lot to you, but some domainers have over 400,000 domains. Most registers will not bargain with you, and you should look to pay no more than $7.50-12.99 each. I have used godaddy, namecheap, and moniker.

When I 1st started you had to use network solutions...they charged at the time $35 for 2 years. If you wanted to transfer the domain to someone fast...they charged you $200...otherwise you had to wait a couple of weeks for them to transfer.

I recommend anyone with great domains to start registering them for the max number of years...everything goes up in price...and so will domains. :2 cents:

blonda80 05-14-2009 11:41 PM

$9 with yahoo for one year. Next year will be $40 so I have to go from here :)

More or less $10.

ParlourCash Karl 05-15-2009 07:00 AM

Whew....For us it is $11.00 per year......seems high on all the replies, but then with all the problems you hear about places....maybe it is worth it as we have not had one single issue from day 1 on any of our domains.

Roby 05-15-2009 07:38 AM

8-10 is good price..
