Yoko puts John Lennon's bloody clothes from the night he was shot on display...

Q: Is she mental?
http://music-mix.ew.com/2009/05/john-lennons-bl.html
"The New York City Annex of the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame has collaborated with Yoko Ono to open an exhibit featuring the effects of the late, great John Lennon, including his piano, the "New York City" t-shirt he made famous... and a paper bag containing the bloody clothes from the night he was shot to death."

Is she the psycho shrew a lot of people take her for, just capitalizing yet again on John's dead corpse?

Or is she doing the right thing and everyone should just cut her some slack?

More pics of said display here: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz....html?ITO=1490
Ultimately, Ono said, she thought it was important to let people see the effects of gun violence.
I'm thinking in this day and age of violent TV, graphic news footage, the internet, etc, that people really don't need a look at John's bloody clothes and glasses to know what gun violence is about.

Your thoughts would be...?

After Shock Media 05-13-2009 03:58 PM

No problems with it.
Hell I would be OK with her putting his body on display. Not like I have to visit it.

2012 05-13-2009 04:00 PM

cool, maybe when she croaks she could get stuffed and add herself to the exhibit

Blazed 05-13-2009 04:03 PM

His bloody clothes are more interesting than his crap music.

questionable, but I can see her point

PurrrsianPussyKat 05-13-2009 05:02 PM

So it's been what? 20+ years since he died and she's still "john lennon's widow".. I bet if the guy accidentally shot her instead, that john would have had wife number 3 within 6 months.

SomeCreep 05-13-2009 05:43 PM

Fat Panda 05-13-2009 05:52 PM

whos john lennon

Walrus 05-13-2009 07:06 PM

Nothing new, CDSmith. You got really worked up over nothing. This is just Yoko being Yoko. She's a performance artist, that's what she does. John's bloody glasses have been on display before. She's not doing this to "capitalize". I think most Beatles and Lennon fans understand that.

cherrylula 05-13-2009 07:07 PM

I still remember going to the sit-ins with my parents. It was surreal to see so many people that upset.

Who got worked up again? I was merely asking what people thought of it.

You know, like a discussion.

Yes so what at least Oasis are here now and im not obsessed with some overrated hippies from the 70's. The beatles came at the right time when everybody was stoned or tripping and easily brainwashed.

Scott McD 05-14-2009 07:57 AM

She's a dumb annoying whore... :2 cents:

BlackCrayon 05-14-2009 07:58 AM

i doubt john would disapprove. thats all that really matters, in my opinion.

John Lennon was an unrepentant Marxist who did more long term damage to Western society then probably any other person but that does not change the fact that he was a musical genius.

The beatles are weak and pathectic in comparison to Oasis.

CDSmith 05-14-2009 08:33 AM

Comparing Oasis to the Beattles is like comparing a drawer full of rocks to the pyramids.

One is mildly amusing at best, the other is the stuff of legends.

Now back to the actual topic...

It doesnt matter if the beatles were the first and Oasis took their style, they improved upon it and their songs are better. Just because you were the first doesnt make you the best.

You have ZERO taste in music. Go enjoy New Kids on the Block or whatever gay boy band you like.

czarina 05-14-2009 11:05 AM

sad that they're still trying to squeeze an extra penny of his dead body.

I respect your right to voice your opinion,

but when said opinion makes you look time and again like a mindless fucking loon well, forgive me for doing the head shake/eye roll thing. I simply can't help it.

PornMD 05-14-2009 01:11 PM

However good or bad the Beatles are, Oasis fucking blows. Maybe if they had a better singer I'd take them seriously, but I feel like I'm listening to a grown up whining baby.

After Shock Media 05-14-2009 01:15 PM

Can someone tell me who the fuck Oasis is?
Typically I have at least heard of some of the bands and artists people go on about here even though I do not listen to music super often, yet most become big enough that even people like me know of them.

I am with you on that. The only time I have ever heard of Oasis is on GFY when someone goes on about how great they are but I have never heard a single song of theirs or heard them mentioned anywhere but here.

Cyandin 05-14-2009 04:19 PM

I can't believe that there is actually now historical record of a discussion comparing the musical genius of The Beatles/John Lennon and the complete lack thereof of Oasis. If aliens get wind of this, they will surely vaporize the planet over such a show of idiocy. :2 cents:

With regard to Yoko, she can do whatever the hell she wants - I could care less. I'm much more disturbed by the people on here who have such strong feelings about someone they have no relation with, and whose actions don't affect them. Here's a big hint at life guys - " It's not really that cool to be opinionated about something, just to have something to say."

LeRoy 05-14-2009 04:31 PM

Thats just wrong in so many ways

Search out posts by "Blazed", you'll find several of them.

Let me AllMusic that for you: http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p...1:axfixqe5ldfe

If you're in the US and have ever heard any Oasis, it was probably Wonderwall

or Champagne Supernova.

For WHATEVER reason some idiots were immediately comparing them to the Beatles from the getgo. *shrug*

Wonderwall better than anything the beatles churned out. And im not an Oasis fan boy that is the simple truth. Who gives a shit if Oasis arent massive in the US, being massive in the US is what got John Lennon killed, id rather Oasis keep away from all the crazy loonies with guns in America.

Wow OK. Nice leap. Same time period in history and the UK and Ireland were mental and people occasionally got blown up and so forth. Yet I am sure the US is the only country on the planet ever with obsessed fans and especially ones that have killed people.

To be fair though since not being massive or even known well in the US does not count, it would only be fair to compare them with any big bang known in other countries then. So technically some bollywood singer would be more popular than Oasis ever is or was and some Japanese group would of made more money - right?
