Until now the oldest women to pose I believe were Terry Moore who was 55 at the time, and Nancy Sinatra who was 54. Vikki LaMotta was 51, while Farrah Fawcett and Joan Collins were both 50 at the times of their shoots. Correct me if there was someone older.

Do only under 30's buy stuff? It is the curiosity factor and novelty factor in this case. Like when Tiffany posed..it wasn't because she was actually hot but because a generation of guys that wanked over here growing up would buy it just to have a look. There are plenty of guys with disposable income that are tired of seeing pneumatic hotties - and they would snap that right up in droves.

And I tend to think that we too often serve up what we think the audience wants versus what it actually does. It's a vast audience out there, and I think sometimes we forget diversity is a good thing. Not all of the consumers are young white dudes.

I think what you are describing are niche markets. For example; The majority of adult consumers want hot models in the style of Jenna Jameson, Jesse Jane, etc. Smaller segments will want something else -- like a naked 75 yo women, or a crack whore sucking cock, bondage, pissing, etc. Playboy is a mainstream publication -- and should, by definition, cater the the wants of the larger mainstream audience.
