Need a simple CMS app
 

I've been thinking of starting a paysite with my gf (fucking-around-and-business-discussion/893517-tossing-starting-paysite-gf.html), and I think i'm going to give it a shot.

I've decided i'm going to keep it relatively small, ideally i'd like to keep it around 100+ members (I won't complain if I end up getting a lot more), but this will also limit her exposure because she's not sure how good her family would react if found.

Anyway, I put together a little checklist of what I would need..

- Hosting (check - however still open to better deals)
- Photographer (check)
- Security Log-in system
- Content Management System
- Possible Affiliate Management System

My brother is a programmer, so i'm tempted to have him whip me up some type of simple log-in system and just have me manually throw a video and/or picture set up like twice a week and do probably a weekly cam show.

What i'm wondering however, why would I want to pay a few hundred one time (or 200/month for ElevatedX), when I can just do that myself? I understand ElevatedX would be great for the large paysites, but would I really need one for a small amateur site? If so, are there any cheap ones out there that do the job?

Also, am I missing something with my checklist?

Someone also just today posted a Paysite CMS with a fee under $300, that's based on Wordpress. It's probably still on the first page.

Thanks, yea it was funny to see that thread when that's what I came to post about, but that guy had specific requirements. I was just kind of looking for a small script, or even to see if I needed to install one at all. I'm thinking just adding the content myself shouldn't be bad, although I definitely would need some sort of gallery generator. I assume that is the best part of a CMS?

You could use one of the freebie mainstream CMS set-ups like Joomla.
In fact, being that you want to keep it very simple, nothing stopping you using basic templates with a gallery/video type module.

Is 100 members a lot more than i'd expect, or are you laughing at limiting her exposure?

plus how are you expecting to get the "100" members? you need to get a bunch of promo material out there all over the place to get members, is she going to wear a bag over her head or a mask for the promo galleries? :1orglaugh

Yea, you make a good point. I've already told her stuff like that, there is no way to really protect her identity once we begin.
