Adult CMS Options - HELP!

So far we have explored and/or worked with.

#1 Joomla
#2 Drupal
#3 Carma
#4 ElevatedX ***BEST SO FAR***

Any other options, the features of ElevatedX stand out as the best thus far (software does it all, saves time, easy to work with out the box) - however the setup price (especially as a 1 pass) is expensive ...

Does anyone know of any other options? Looking for the rich features of ElevatedX without the huge upfront setup fee, the $150-200 monthly license fee is managable.

this for paysite? or something else

JimmiDean 05-08-2009 08:48 AM

We use elevatedX and have been very happy with it.
We are also finding the ease of use and features, not to mention support are saving us far more then the cost on a monthly basis.
cheers

Thanks man!

MAS ??, do you have a URL or are you referring to Mansion (http://www.mansionproductions.com/mas/) ?

there's a new CMS program that Mo and Lulu will be promoting heavily next week. if you're curious, ask them about it and they might give you info.

This probably isn't what you want to hear, but elevatedx is likely your best option despite the cost. There's a bit of a learning curve with it if you're setting up the sites/designs yourself, but once you get the hang of it's a breeze.

Elevated for sure.

One good thing about Joomla or Drupal is the number of developers who are available when you want to add things

There's also SiteDepth.

Our system is definitely geared towards clients who are serious about their business. We're not peddling a script. We're offering a pay site business infrastructure that's proven robust enough to be running some of the largest cash programs in the industry.

My suggestion to anyone looking for a system is do your homework. Do a gfy search and read other CMS related threads and see what actual users of the different systems are saying.

If your only requirement is a list of features there are plenty of cheap scripts out there.

I'm having a bitch of a time finding a CMS that can do what I would be a relatively simple site:

I have a page full of DVD box thumbs, the surfer clicks on the box and goes to a page with a bigger box, a few screencaps and a link to the movies or the signup page if they are not a member.

I think Carma or Elevated-X can do it, but finding out anything specific is difficult. It's taking so long to find out anything that we have begin building it ourselves in MySQL/PHP.

In your case, instead of all that time figuring stuff out, building, testing, etc, why not just set up a nice white label DVD store and move on with your life? They have the whole back end, database, CMS, and everything else in place for a site like that . So unless you think you are doing something revolutionary with a DVD site design, that sounds like a lot of work for nothing.

PS- Wordpress is the bomb. I won't design a site without it now.

You can do that with ElevatedX (but you will need severe customization), not sure about Carma and you can do it with MAS (customized). However, the best option in your case, and by a long run is Joomla, Drupal or Wordpress. Or any E-commerce CMS, but why use expensive stuff when the free stuff is way better?

about the subject, Carma and MAS are the easiest ones to use and customize, however they are extremely outdated with nowadays site's requirements. I think any GOOD Wordpress or Joomla driven CMS is better than those, or they'll be in the next couple of months, the beauty of open source is you have literally millions of people upgrading and adding stuff every single day, it's impossible for any company to get to that point, unless you're Microsoft. And not even then (for example, Firefox is way better than IE, Thunderbird is way better than Outlook, Open Office is way better than MSOffice, Linux is way better than Windows and so on).

So far, the only up-to-date adult CMS right now is ElevatedX and IMHO it's becoming outdated by the minute. As an example, we've made a Wordpress based CMS sytem with Wowza and AJAX that has all features any other CMS out there has plus a bunch more no adult CMS has and we already noticed we were able to add more features we didn't add at first. And I guess there must be thousands doing the same out there, so go figure.

Almost forgot, another decent one is Porn CMS but it's expensive for what it is, so if you're planning to pay for any CMS, I'd say either go custom or go with ElevatedX
