Whats the latest time you would exercise at night?

What's the latest time at night you would exercise and what time do you sleep?

I always tell myself the excuse that "it's too late to exercise". For example, its 9pm here and I'm lazy so I tell myself that "it's too late", even tho I will probably end up going to sleep at 4 or 5 am in the morning (I sleep late) so technically exercising right now shouldn't interfere too much with me sleeping if it's like 7 hours later right?

I can't really exercise in the morning because I always wake up late in the afternoon, and when it's the afternoon my excuse is that it's "too hot" to exercise... and when it's 5 or 6 pm and not so hot I'm usually on the pc working and by the time I'm ready and dressed to go I will feel like it's "too late" (I mean too late at night), so there's never a good time to exercise!

It's always either "too cold" or "too hot" or "too early" or "too late".

I want to know what's the latest time you would exercise at night and what time you sleep!

Guess it depends on how strict you want to be with it, I don't see a problem with working out late at night especially with the gym being packed lately :(

d-null 05-07-2009 09:18 PM

I have a similar schedule to you, often up until 3 or 4

I find I feel alot better if I work out, so often will go at 2 am, but I prefer to go around midnight if I can, but going at 2 am is better than not going at all :2 cents:

sometimes the night janitors are busy cleaning but no problem, it is a nice atmosphere actually when there are only a dozen people in the gym in the middle of the night

I'm too drunk after 12.it would have to be around 10 am

bausch 05-07-2009 09:36 PM

Now my new excuse for not exercising is because I just ate. its 9:36 pm now I am afraid if i exercise now i will feel too energized and won't be able to sleep even at 4 pm.

mynameisjim 05-07-2009 09:36 PM

I can never work out during the day, especially first thing in the morning. Those people that do are freaks.

I work out daily from 8:30 -10 p.m. and go to bed around 4:30 a.m.

I sometimes do Jiu Jitsu class at 8PM, but I do my running in the morning and weights in the afternoon.

Under the sheets? Have I hurled yet?

Sounds like you need to get your life in order and realize what is most important to you. Exercising in the afternoon and the evening is a bad idea for many reasons.
1. You don't have the energy you would normally in the morning
2. IF you work out in the morning, your body basically burns fat
3. IF you work out in the afternoon or the evening, your body burns off the food and shit you ate and drank before it even has a chance to burn fat

Basically there are many reasons. It also depends on your goals. Do you want to lose fat? Gain muscle? Look presentable and not a fat shit? Be specific.

Either fix your schedule since there really is no damn good reason to have those "webmaster normal hours" unless your job really uses up dealing with a lot of Filipino's every day or just stop making excuses.

1. To hot or to cold = Fix thermostat, use climate control.

Your reasons are only valid for cardio if the only goal is fat loss. If your goal is to get stronger and bigger, it's a great idea to work out in the afternoon when your energy levels are high.

I like to jog outdoors but in a secluded park where there aren't too many people...
How can I fix thermostat for that?

I don't like to work out in a gym to be honest, I am more comfortable working out alone, I don't like to work out among other people.

There's no reason at all for me to have a fucked up sleeping schedule. It's just that my schedule is already this way and it's hard to fix now. I can't go to sleep early even if I try. I have insomnia. I'll just lay there and not sleep. I procrastinate and will stay up all night reading stuff on-line or watching tv. Its hard for me to sleep

I'm not a fat ass at all. I just want to be more toned and have more defined abs.

I am really slim even tho I'm lazy and eat a lot. I have an incredible metabolism.

No, my reasons are not only for cardio OR fat loss. It applies to gaining muscle as well. You can just cut out the cardio and change your workout routine.

So most likely you're an ectomorph. You have trouble gaining muscle, you have ridiculous metabolism, and you don't have trouble losing body fat (normally). Maybe ecto-endomorph.

Then read what I said in terms of fat loss. If you want to maintain muscle and lose pure bodyfat, it's perfect for you.

When I lived in NYC I would skate downtown to Crunch regularly at 2 or 3 am to work out... No fuss no crowds it was great. Only downside no hot chicks either. Mostly service industry peeps...

I hope you realize there are no benefits to working out in the middle of the night.

AaliyahLove 05-07-2009 10:31 PM

I only make it to the gym 3-4 days a week and when I do, I don't even get to the gym until 11:30-12midnight, after I am done working. I can never head to the gym knowing I have so much to do that day, and I'm too tired in the morning usually.. I dont feel fully awake until 2-3 hours after I've woken up! :)
So I go to the gym from about 12-1:30 then go home and go to bed around 2 and usually fall right asleep. The next morning when I wake up I am usually feeling the burn in my muscles!:)

I've been dealing with the same issue, working out late at night. I prefer to do it in the day if I can. Better late then not at all I guess. About to do some curls and abs right now.

Are you male or female this week?
