I hate my Mac! Yeah, I said it!

To all the Mac lovers and geeks who told me it was the best thing ever and I'd never go back etc etc. FAH Q!

I got a high range iMac, 24" and have had nothing but crashes, freezes, FF crashing every 10 minutes, Skype freezing a couple of times a day, my Mighty Mouse deciding to stop working whenever it gets bored etc.

I hit up all my 'friends' who swore Mac was the shizzo and they NOW say things like 'oh yeah, hehe FF crashes alot' and 'oh, renaming a file is a bitch, try this and that' and 'oh yeah, the MightyMouse is infamous for fucking up, go here and read this and do that'

ASSHOLES! I will be installing Vista on this bad boy this weekend. STEVE JOBS EAT SHIT!

baddog 05-07-2009 01:33 PM

Not a mac proponent, however, I wonder how much of the problem is due to Skype. goodgirl is having a lot of problems with its cpu usage.

alexchechs 05-07-2009 01:33 PM

I would bring it into service with apple care, they will fix it right up and you will have no problems at all. You might just have a defective one...

Yup. I got 2 and i put them through the ringer!! and never have any problems that they didnt fix immediately and that was when my warranty was over. One was a battery replacement for my laptop and the other was a complete tower replacement 3 years after my warranty expired. it was all free of charge!! was shocked!! getting ready to buy another Mac editing machine because of that.:2 cents:

pornguy 05-07-2009 01:39 PM

hahahaha.... Love to see pissed off Mac people.

CIVMatt 05-07-2009 01:46 PM

Pissed off mac people are people who dont realize you can just walk into a mac store and they'll fix everything for free even if they have to replace anything

MediumPimpin 05-07-2009 01:48 PM

I sold both my Imac 24' months back, too many issues I was wasting way to much time trying to get productive on them.

I hate your new Mac too.

GrouchyAdmin 05-07-2009 01:59 PM

I miss my Mac.

DeanCapture 05-07-2009 02:10 PM

I've had an iMac 24" for about a week now - love it. Thinking about getting another one.

The only issue I've had with it was trying to calibrate it. it's way too bright out of the box. The only way to get the brightness down to a level where the monitor can be calibrated correctly is with a third-party app. I picked up a free one called "Shades". Other then that, no issues what so ever. Sorry to hear about all your problems man - maybe you got a lemon...it happens :(

Porn Producer 05-07-2009 02:15 PM

mac is for fags

JD 05-07-2009 02:17 PM

sounds like something is just fucked up with some of the software installed. I'd take it to applecare man. I fucking LOVE my mac and have 0 problems. Firefox runs fine, skype works great, no issues freezing at all... ever...

alias 05-07-2009 02:19 PM

Shitty, I was thinking about getting one to learn fbsd better.

StickyGreen 05-07-2009 02:21 PM

Macs are fucking gay...

burntfilm 05-07-2009 02:26 PM

urb 05-07-2009 02:40 PM

I run Firefox, Opera, Safari and have had zero problems on my iMac. Never had a single freeze, ever.

It is far more stable than any computer I have ever owned, and I've got a fucking graveyard of PCs and their busted components.

I had one problem with my iMac Mighty Mouse. I called Apple and they sent me a new one next day for free.

If you went into PC World with a clogged up PC mouse ball, they'd just laugh at you!

DirtyDanza 05-07-2009 02:49 PM

my question is why would you run FF over safari ... safari is by far better than ff...

that what happends when you take a mac and start putting stuff your used to on windows on it... if you wanna sell your imac hit me up ill take it off your hands for you at a really cheap price :) make it my 4th mac in the house

That's what I did DD. I'm using FF on my iMac because I was very fond of it and I love some of the plugins (add-ons) that people make for it. Does that make me a bad person? Or just ill-informed? Please enlighten me :winkwink:

Cyber Fucker 05-07-2009 02:57 PM

Fuck macs, they suck :glugglug

MattJustin 05-07-2009 03:17 PM

I converted to mac 2 years ago. At the time, I thought the mac mini was the best system for me.

Boy was I wrong.

6 months ago, it just craps out on me. It had randomly shut off on me a few times before, but it always worked again. I made the mistake of not buying apple care, and when I went to take the piece of shit in, they told me my "logic board" was fried, and that it wasn't even worth fixing because the newer version of the mac mini costs about the same as to get it fixed. They got a ear full from me. I swore I would never buy another mac. Then just recently, I purchased a mac book. I just can't stay away from it for some reason. This time I also got apple care, so if it does crap out on me again, they can fix it.

Still though, I expected so much more of apple. i was really let down :(

Camino is a much better OSX alternative based on the same rendering engine.

Here, even docs on migrating FROM FF.

not a bad person no.... but thats like buying a bmw and putting chevy parts on it.... notice how apple calls safari the best browser in the world? well they make that claim outright in writing... if you or anyone else can prove em wrong (im sure many have tried) then you could sue them for false advertising and win big bucks... but they still claim it so im sure no one has proved em wrong yet.....

Mac freezing!? The problem is Skype- Its not stable- causes PCs and MAC to crash. (My opinion)

Legendary Samir - BANNED FOR LIFE 05-07-2009 05:32 PM

Macs are for stupids. I build my own PCs.

Eva PSC 05-07-2009 05:37 PM

I am thinking to get the new airbook for traveling. Really not a fan of macs but I love how light and pretty that new airbook is. So I will give it a try, hope it works well.

I need a cooperating computer after having to deal with my brand new dell lemon laptop for a few weeks now... Stuck on a desktop still.

RandomNinja 05-07-2009 06:45 PM

Hell, Apple gave me a new macbook pro 17, 1 year after warranty cause mine got flooded in a rain storm. I found it sitting on the floor under 6 inches of water, it had been on... sigh... They gave me the exact same machine ready to go..

jakethedog 05-07-2009 06:53 PM

I haven't shut my MacBook Pro off for over 2 yrs I have Skype and every other fucking chat medium possible . Adobe Master collection and run bridge batch processing ..talk on skype ..and chat on Adium .... it has NEVER froze .. it has never had a single issue ... My buddy owns "The Mac Station" up here in Vancouver .. not sure where you are but take it BACK .. immediately .. they will just give you a NEW one .. new MACs do NOT fuck up .. there is an issue with yours .. just take it back ..tell them what is wrong ... they will just take it back and replace it with a brand new working one .

I got 2 mac minis and they rock.

Yes you were wrong. All you needed was a new fan, $30 at welovemacs and a putty knife to put the new one in. It is better than ever. Plus I got an Intel one last year.

MetaMan 05-07-2009 07:04 PM
