Two penalties for Chelsea?
I think so.... but i think that Barca overall deserved to advance.
|
I wanted to see Barca in the final but surely Chelsea should have gotten at least 1 free kick. The ref had no eye for the game of football and I have no idea why they let him judge. It's a conspiracy.
|
no way mo!
Chelsea deserved to lose. essiens goal was excellent though :thumbsup |
that ref is in trouble ( so is Drogba)
should have gave that last hand ball to chelsea, that was a penalty I am glad and Finale is not 100% english though Drogba looks like he is about to eat him alive in that picture: http://img.thesun.co.uk/multimedia/a...90_797943a.jpg :1orglaugh:1orglaugh DIDIER DROGBA faces a huge UEFA ban after a vicious tunnel attack on Chelsea’s Euro ref last night. The crazed Blues striker hurled an F-word tirade at Tom Henning Ovrebo as Barcelona hit a 93rd-minute goal to reach the Champions League final. Millions of stunned TV viewers saw Drogba square up to the ref on the pitch after he had rejected FOUR penalty appeals. Mad Drog screamed obscenities at the TV cameras, forcing Sky to issue a rushed apology. Then the Ivory Coast star stormed down the tunnel and hurled abuse at Ovrebo. An eye witness said: “Drogba was coming down the tunnel with ref Ovrebo alongside him. He kept shouting at Henning and the referee stopped. “Drogba turned towards the ref and put his face just three or four inches from the ref’s face and kept shouting. He told the ref ‘This is a f***ing disgrace, you don’t have respect, something like that can’t happen. You can’t do that’. “All the time he used his hand to intimidate the ref further. “He kept slamming his hand to the wall just inches from the ref’s face. Ovrebo looked terrified — but never said anything.” Chelsea star Michael Ballack then joined in until the terrified ref ran back on to the pitch to avoid more confrontation. The eye witness added: “Drogba looked crazy. He had lost control. But he never laid a finger on the ref, even though his behaviour was anything but civil.” Last night Ovrebo admitted to UEFA representatives at the match that he had made “significant mistakes” during the game. But Drogba’s behaviour is certain to trigger a UEFA probe. Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink defended the disgraceful reaction of his players. He said: “I can fully understand the emotion of the game, the players’ disappointment. “It’s not just one decision made in doubt but several decisions.” Source:http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...cle2416087.ece http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/...allack-001.jpg |

There was only really one penalty there, that blatant handball. The others were due to Drogba's theatrics. If he didn't dive so much, refs would take him more seriously.
I'm glad it went that way though, the 2 best attacking teams in the world right now, head to head in the Final. And that's coming from a Liverpool fan. Pains me to say :1orglaugh Mikey your animations crack me up. |
Both teams deserved to play the final, no doubt about it but looking through both legs of the semi-finals, I think that Chelsea would have deserved the final more. The worst thing is that they got robbed two penalties that should have been called against Barcelona.
|
I don't think Chelsea deserved any penalties during the game
that last handball is not. It hit the shoulder unintentionally Chelsea are sore losers |
Why are Chelsea blaming everyone but themselves? They were 11 vs 10 for more than 30 minutes with the lead and had plenty of large scoring chances.
Still can't believe Chelsea couldn't control their players. Refs will always be disliked and needs protection. I wouldn't trust the Sun to much but hope UEFA slams them hard. |

but the barca defender should not have been redcarded. |
No man there was no penalties maybe the last one in 95 min but that was situation of free judging so in that moment was no way some referee to point on white spot.
|
I was just in favor of the yellow team... :)
Drogba shouldn't have gone so far. People that make those kind of salaries shouldn't let themselves go like that, THAT is the fucking disgrace. Also that crazy german guy Ballack was showing the worst of himself. The referee saw things that didn't happen and missed things that did happen, but that was on both sides I think. He sucked, the yellow team won... yay! I don't even like football. |

quote from the player himself.. Pique later conceded that the ball had struck his hand. "The referee decided it wasn't a penalty, and sometimes it's wrong," said the former Manchester United centre-half, who will now confront his former team-mates in Rome. The visiting manager Pep Guardiola also stated that he could "understand Chelsea's disappointment with the performance of the referee". |

Truth is Drogba could of finished it before twice, he had two great chances and he blew it

Terrible refereeing, what was a Norwegian doing in charge of such a big game? Should have had an Italian ref who's used to these huge, high pressured games. Feel sorry for Chelsea as they completely cancelled out a supposedly "great" Barca team over 2 legs and got done by their only shot at goal.
Chelsea should have had at least 1 penalty but Drogba had chances to kill the game and didn't. He got taken off "injured" then ran all over the pitch chasing the ref at the end!?! |

Drogba and Ballack were a complete disgrace to the game. Can you imagine if every player did what they (Ballack & Drogba) did when they have a penalty decision go the wrong way for them...
Back the Man in Black!!. Chlesea lost because they only had 40% of the ball possession, failed to convert some golden opportunities, wasted time by rolling around the pitch for half the night and then not being able to hold onto a lead with 2 minutes to go, whilst playing with 11 men against 10. They have no one to blame other than themsleves!! |

But who cares? I fuckin' hate Chelsea. I just about came when Barca scored. |
anyone who saw that match i'd think would be in agreement that was some absolutely disgraceful reffing last night.
|
Well that's Football! I think most people agree on the team that should have one. As for the player?s behaviour, it could be stamped out if the authorities put rules and proper punishments into place. In terms of today?s game I don?t think you can blame them.
|
The sad thing is that the Norwegian ref has made big mistakes like this in the past in high profile games. I feel for Drogba, Terry, Malouda and Ballack who displayed high emotion during the game and final sequence. The ref was not cut out to judge a game of this stature and the players where right to tell him off.

If Chelsea was in final, the match would be a boring 1-0. |
I hate Chelsea so I'm glad they feel hard done by. As for that wanker Drogba I hope he never kicks a ball again. He is an absolute disgrace to professional footballers. He dives, cheats and complains at everything. I hope Uefa hammer him with a massive fine and 10 game suspension for the way he treated the Referee.

Chelsea coach claimed that UEFA doesn't want to have another all English final
really???!!! what a concpiracy I guess UEFA planned a scenario that Barca would score in the 93 min Drogba is wellknown of his diving, he is luck that he wasn't booked also you saw Anelka started to act same way again sore losers |
Quote:
Drogba doesn't deserve to get a penalty because for every one that "should" be given, he dives for about another 4 which clearly aren't. Him and players like him are a disgrace to the game !! Fuck them... :321GFY |

The only reason to put your arm in the way of the ball is to protect yourself. Usually the face or genitals. And you can't play the ball to your advantage. Defender turned his back so no protection issue and raised his arm to make himself bigger. Simple as that. Penalty. But the referee had the worse game of everyone on the field. Yes Drogba goes down too easy, for such a big strong man who can win and protect the ball outside the penalty area he seems to turn to jelly in the penalty area. So those missed penalties are his fault. But the ref's overall handling of the game was terrible. The red card was doubtful but I did not see the replay well enough. Barcelona were by far the better team, 66% of a game does not lie. But the number of shots on goal and their lack of real penetration in Chelsea's penalty area was poor. I believe the goal was one of the few shots on target and Petra Cech had little to save. Man Utd should be able to muscle out their forwards and if Ronaldo and Rooney play their normal game will take Barca's defense apart. |
Quote:
As for the penalty I disagree with you again. Debatable at best. It still hits him basicly underneath his shoulder, so I say no penalty. The arms have to be somewhere. Agree with you on the game itself. Chelsea should have finished it earlier playing with one extra for more than 30 minutes. |

Ball isn't hitting his arm but underneath his shoulder. No way that is a penalty. |

Either way, Pique's was a CLEAR handball in the box. Since the ref FUCKED THE POOCH on that call, he should give them the edge on the tricep shot at the end of the game. It's called a 'makeup' call, but apparently the ref didn't understand such conceptery.
AND LOOK WHERE THE FUCKING REF IS LOOKING IN THIS PICTURE.... ?????????????? Looks like he had a clear view, what did he see exactly? :P http://www.telegraph.co.uk/telegraph...e_1398066c.jpg |
