windows 7
Thinking about putting it on my editing computer. Would you recommend just adding a partition or clean c drive? Adding partition looks appealing that if I dont like it I dont have to reformat everything. Or was thinking buy another hard drive they are cheap and could put it on that.If I dont like it I just can swap the drives. Your thoughts?

it's very good
once you install it, you wont need to go back |
i'm tempted aswell.
|
Vista is working fine for me. No reason to dick around with changes. I don't need to have the most current version of windows to get by.
|
I've been thinking of throwing it on a box as well.
|
What's new in it it anyway? it's basically what vista was supposed to be?
|
and what's the device drivers situation like? it runs on vista drivers?
|
Its worth trying out. I'd get the extra harddrive, save you making any install mistakes and alot of time resizing and fucking around with partitions.

I need to update my laptizzle with the new version of the beta. I'm pretty sure the new one lets you run it for a whole year, or so I've heard and too lazy to look up myself.
but shit, i dont think i have my key anymore :( |
spend the $40 on a hd to test it on if you dont have spare hd's laying around.
|
w7 is awesome, you won't go to vista... i got 64bit version running for over a month with not 1 issue
|
win7 > same as vista

Been running Windows 7 for a few months now. Haven't run into one bug, crash, hiccup...nothing! It's really was vista was supposed to be I guess. Only real "major" change really is the taskbar, which is somewhat like an OSX dock.
They just released the RC client - I'll prolly reformat and upgrade to the new one this week. For the record, I use the entire adobe suite, and a few lesser known programs - I.E. Videocharge, ACDSEE, Filezilla, etc. as well as a few games that all run without a hitch. I installed this on my main computer - an HP "desktop replacer" the first of its kind from HP, and didn't have to fuss over any drivers...it all just *worked* right after install, which was very cool, considering the model had just been released by HP and all. |
love windows 7. been running the orig beta for a long time on a production machine and laptop. downloaded the latest RC and will be installing that tomorrow. awesome + no crashes. highly recommend

My next pc upgrade will be when win7 final is released.

best from microsoft...
|
I will tested this days also , many people says that this is the best OS ever
|
go ahead and buy a new hard drive..
putting it on a partition is less safe.. you'll lose both partition if your HD fail.. |
best windows OS ever, hands down.. blows vista away
works flawlessly, automatically downloads drivers from the net, etc.... no crashing... its just awesome from what i read you can even uninstall IE8 if you want |
yea, im glad i never went to vista. so glad that 7 is coming out soon so i can skip the 0 and get with HEROOOOOO!!!
ricky lake style muhfuckies |
I am not even sure what the whole anti-vista thing is about... I have been running it for over a year and I have never had any problems with it.
|
I'm going to upgrade my one and only Vista box this weekend.
Had it running on my Netbook the other day and was impressed with how well it ran there. |

it's light, very fast and never crashes all the vista drivers work on windows 7, but most places already offer windows 7 drivers anyway |
I plan to throw it on my other 500gig drive and dual-boot (well, triple boot), XP, W7 and Ubuntu over the weekend.
