Chrysler Not Likely To Pay Back Govt Loans
|
Ugh, seriously wtf is that bullshit? Thank you, govt! We always wanted to throw billions of dollars away on a shitty car company. Now watch one of the banks the govt helps goes under and we see tens of billions more fizzle into nothing.

how dare you question obama, our lord and savior!

The Bush administration, which has presided over a major intervention in the financial industry, has balked at allowing the automakers to tap into the $700 billion bailout fund, despite warnings last week that General Motors might not survive the year. Mr. Obama and Congressional Democratic leaders say the bailout law authorizes the administration to extend assistance. Mr. Obama went into his post-election meeting with Mr. Bush on Monday primed to urge him to support emergency aid to the auto industry, advisers to Mr. Obama said. |
anyone expect anything different?

Where are all the Obama people in this thread?
Who needs "tax cut for the rich" when you can just give them billions? :321GFY |
honestly, you are surprised?
what they probably did was take the billions they had "loaned" to them and used it to pay for salaries and pay back some larger share holders so when they go bankrupt, the big wigs at the company dont have to worry about money for the next few years personally i think its fucked up that this was ever done. they fully knew what was happening and stole billions from hard working tax payers so the upper level management could continue to bring in 6+ figures for years to come. |
Maybe it was because of the way Obama and his peeps acted?

nice fantasy but what they did was buy the company with tax payer money and give it to the unions. |
Chrysler will Obama's Waterloo. It is an albatross that will expose him for the Hugo Chavez wanna be that he is. Threatening to sick the White House Press corps on the bondholders if they did not agree to give up their contractual rights in favor of the unions has exposed Obama to everyone as the two bit Marxist thug that he is.

They do whats best for themselves and their friends. If you think for one second that lots of people are not walking out of this with a ton of cash you are wrong.

This is not an Obama-isolated thing. It'll take only 1 bank to go under that the TARP gave money to to do about 5-10 times the money loss of this...bottom line, these fucking bailouts shouldn't have been offered up to ANY company. Essentially, rather than let natural selection play out, the govt has been trying to play god, or at least a significant percentage of the politicians and officials in power (not all to credit some of the seemingly genuine good people like Ron Paul). This'll probably be the first of many of these bailed out businesses that goes under - they were failing for a reason which won't go away simply because money was thrown at them.
