question for quicktime pro users (video editing)

I'd like open a capture avi file to take screenshots. However, quicktime pro won't allow me to open more than 3:43 minutes of the capture file. Is there a way to fix this problem?

Sounds like your AVI files are getting turncated at the 2GB (maybe 4GB depending on the resolution of your video)

Check out your file sizes, got any over 2GB?

I'm using the latest version as well, and registered as PRO....The file I'm trying to open is 3.85 gigs. It does open, but only 3:43 minutes of it.

What OS are you running? What is your Filesystem type?

Are you sure your AVI isnt only 3:43 mins long?

I usually use VirtualDub to take screenshots. But I wanted to try Quicktime Pro. With virtualDub, the files open without any problem. I tried with several avi files, and they all stop at 3:43 minutes in the quicktime time line. These movies are all longer than 3:43.

And apparently, I'm not the only one having this problem
