bird flu vs swine flu
 

Ok, i haven't been paying that much attention to bird flu, but I remember some panic was there... especially since the birds migrate easily... I remember how some people were concerned when they saw dead birds on the street,...

bottom line, what was the WHO pandemic level back then with the bird flu and how many people were infected/died ?

i'd look it up out of pure curiosity, but perhaps someone already knows more about it

The 6 levels are fairly new.
Also this flu does meat the criteria set up to be level 6.

Just remember when it goes human to human, then more than 3 countries it is a level 6.

I think this scale is confusing to the people and even to the media.

6 / 6 pandemic incidates to the average guy that the situation is really bad.

it's funny that we have 6/6 pandemic now with only 20 people killed or so, but if 200 million would get killed this year, we would still have only 6/6 level, heh

It is not that confusing really but then again there are idiots everywhere.
Has nothing to do with number of deaths - just how/where/quickly it is spreading. When it settles down more, it will be given the "at ease" attachment.

Many news agencies have fucked it all up and scared the crap out of people, but the charts and descriptions themselves are pretty damn simple and do make full sense.
