I was at the post office this morning and the later in front me, who's English wasn't too good, was asking about tracking packages that are going to the Ukraine. And suddenly it hit me like a rock. I live in the United States, one of the largest and most powerful countries in the world, and we accept people of any country, race, or color and allow them to live here. And for the most part, they can worship whatever god they want and don't have to live in fear of being dragged out of their house in the middle of the night by the government and "disappeared".

It's a beautiful thing.

I said go back to Mexico. GOOD DAY SIR.

People staying away from Florida is the main reason for the real estate melt down that has occurred there. Without people wanting to move there, and create demand for housing -- the market collapsed.

Without the price gouging and greed by real estate masters the housing market would
be sustainable forever.

They push it to the limit and them bail out and flee; leaving unattended property that
turns into slums.

Actually it was a combination.

Average people got very greedy, they all thought they could overextend and buy extra properties that they couldn't afford to flip them.... and that can't go on forever no matter what. It drove the prices up to insanity.

The other big thing was that condo developers thought the same thing, building a crap load of towers on spec, with no real cash to back up the financiing, and again, you can't sustain the 20%+ price increases every year forever.


Things simply had to correct themselves at some point. You get to a point where nobody can afford it.

What he said. I've been to Mexico, not much different from my home country, The Philippines. Great beaches. Tropical weather. Cheap food (if you know where to look). Friendly and warm people. Great hospitality.

It's all about PERSPECTIVE. Most countries in the world are great places to live if you have the right perspective. I say most cuz you must have an awesome perspective (and be a male and an opium poppy grower) to live in Taliban-controlled parts of Afghanistan and Pakistan :1orglaugh
