Nope, the fuckers can jump at you. Of all spiders those jumping types freak me out the most. Especially when you lock eyes with one and its rocking back and forth as you move, you just know the bastard wants to jump at you.

agreed, I was looking at a really strange one that was on the wall because I hadn't seen one like it, and it jumped for me, it came off the wall about a foot toward me but missed, was pretty startling because I wasn't expecting it
