                                                                                                      I'm inclined to lean towards agreeing with that. A lot of scripture is quite open to interpretation and has had it's meanings twisted in order to suit the situation.

                                                                                                      However I don't recall reading about Christians ever condoning marrying (selling) off their 8 yr old daughters to 50 yr old men.

                                                                                                      Nor do they give their daughters clitectomies.

                                                                                                      Nor do they declare jihad over every perceived slight.
