I would love to go to yellowstone - one of the most beautiful places on earth
hopefully the supervolcanoe holds off for a few more years http://www.solcomhouse.com/yellowstone.htm |
Yep Jackson Hole is your best bet and probably the cheapest. Some nice hotels in Jackson and Teton Village.

Cool. Jackson Hole it is - how about what places to go to while there? We will bring tent.

Depending on when you are going, and if camping, get on the national parks service website and make your reservations asap... Coulter Bay is a great campsite. Don't miss out on the Firehole River. There is a great swimming area (cold water.. be prepared for it.... even though it's fed by a hot spring LOL).
Lots of campgrounds. You should also try the camping in Teton National Park. Amazing place. I always loved Gros Venture Slide area, Jenny Lake, Inspiration Falls. |
Go to Cody, WY 52 miles east of the east gate of Yellowstone and you can get rafting trips on the Yellowstone river.
We always say at the Bill Cody ranch with is 1/2 way between Cody and the east gate. Be sure to Go out the northeast gate and take Beartooth Highway into Montana which is one of the most scenic drives in North America:thumbsup I love Yellowstone:thumbsup:pimp |

Friend just got a job at yellowstone, have fun up there

When you get inside Yellowstone the road around the park is basically a big circle. It will take 2-4 full days to complete the circle depending on how long you stay at each spot. They'll give you a map of the park with all the spots to visit.

Start out in the Badlands then headup to the Blackhills. We usually stay in Spearfish and drive to all the other towns in the hills, Mt Rushmore, Crazyhorse, the goldmines and Caves from there:winkwink: |
Gonna ask for some tips for my trip in september too soon.
Btw. i thought you where kinda like a terrorist wanted to fly INTO some big tree in yellowston :) |
Oystein, final tips...
Jackson Hole is close to Tetons National Park and a good 3 - 4 hrs drive from the south loop of Yellowstone. We have had 4 two week stays in the area and have not seen everything we wanted to see. That little northwest corner of Wy on the map is a hell of alot of miles. On the east side of the north loop is the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone which I think has a lower falls with a 300 ft drop and an upper falls with a 150 drop waterfall. You can walk down to the Brink of the upper falls...it is one of those places where you see God and is a must see:thumbsup |
