WHY? You have Ccbill and Epoch that have amazing track records. For any site owner, that has decided to use 3rd party processing, using anyone besides Ccbill and Epoch is just a huge risk and mistake. Nobody feels sorry for you when shit goes wrong they just wonder WTF were you thinking.

verotel is top notch stand up whatever.

I can only think of two possible reasons; one is legitimate, one should not be.

1) Nobody else will process for their content.

2) Don't want to pay the Visa fee (assuming that is still in place.)

I know there are many sites that can't process else where. A lot of the fetish stuff that isn't allowed by the other 2. I have a verotel account but its not being used. Waiting to see how things come out before I add it to our ccbill cascade (think I heard its available now, or will be soon haven't taken time to look yet).

Another big one was that until recently, it was difficult for Canadians to get setup with CCBill and Epoch.

what do you mean until recently? CCbill is processing for canadians now?

Verotel was much better with sales and rebills for us than the other guys. 35% or so. I get the feeling that some IPSP's are even scrubbing rebills nowadays. Verotel was really good with all this, and one of the things that angers me most about their recent meltdown is that we now have to consider processing options that may not be as advantageous.

Verotel has had a couple of colossal problems right from the beginning though, the first is that their public relations are a nightmare, and the second is that their systems have not changed with the times in any way. This must be hurting them a lot...If their affiliate program options only involve MPA/NATS well why bother when I can put Zombaio in the cascade at 5%.

I truly hope they can re-invent themselves, do away with some of the outrageous fees they have, hire some management that will inspire trust and modernize their setup.

Gee, I remember thinking how wonderful Ibill was. They were a leader in the industry for years. Now, CCbill and Epoch are great. I especially like CCbill a lot. All the same, no one should ever be completely comfortable in their credit card merchant. Always have a plan B.

The answer is simple, Verotel was a lot easier to get a site going with.

You could take a look at dialxs.com , Payment Service Providers one of the leading in Europe and also covering the US ;-)

I use Ticketsclub on one site since it's not worth paying a yearly Visa fee. It's always been "small" (the busiest year probably netted about $15k) but that's dwindled off gradually to beer money level. Maybe $1000-$1500 a year.

It can't hurt to have another processor in your cascade. Just put it dead last in the cascade.
