HELP: Films from Mini DV to computer (without a cam)
Is theer some sort of equipment for sale to get content from a mini DV to your computer without using a camera?
Thanks already!! |
yes there are video decks BUT they are more expensive than a cheap video camera - there must be standard digital video cameras that use miniDV tapes these days that are dirt cheap new or used.
that's your best bet unless they've made some cheaper gadget to play miniDV tapes. |

find a cheap camera on Craigs List - test it first. Most have firewire but some only have usb so make sure the camera works with your computer too. |
what they said - cheap cameras cost a lot less than video decks
|
as said
you can just get a cheap dv camera. it will play films from 3 chip cameras. the only thing is i do not think it will play hd, unless you get a hd dv camera. |
And make sure the cam matches the mini DV, either PAL or NTSC.

Hoeveel filmpjes moet je doen en wanneer moet je het hebben?

Mini dv camera's are so cheep these days its crazy.
We bought HD mini dv ones for $700 last year and they are great. All we use them for is to copy and rip HD mini DV tapes. |
It's best to use a VTR to save your camera from usage during capture, rewind, scrubbing. All of that stuff is not good for your camera. Here's what I use. It's a little overkill for my purposes but does the job.
