I hate the macbooks

Went laptop shopping, and thank god...

Was all set and ready to pick up a macbook pro, popped down to Best Buy on a whim to check em out along with a few other lappies before i placed my order. Very glad I did now.

The macs I was looking at 2k plus range were horrible. Can't stand the touchpads or general look feel of the mac books now.

The Dell studio on the other hand... full k cheaper min. operated like a dream. Great physical layout and decent overall usability experience.

Looks like Dell's keeping my business for at least one more buy.

Don't worry. Your financial situation will improve. Keep your nose to the grindstone and next time you'll be able to afford one.

lol that's classic...

My thought process with not liking the macbook pros... Pick up a Dell studio at least a grand cheaper than the macbook pro I was looking at... and pick up a mac pro desktop or just the iMac for some testing.

I'm not one to get into the pc/mac battle thing... I dig them both... They are tools, learn how to use em... I was just blown away by the fact that the much cheaper pc options I was finding after a very very short halfhearted search were much nicer usability wise.

macbook pro's are pricey for sure. I actually like the touchpad on mine (not the newest version) If I cold integerate teh touchepad into a dell or something I would!

Dude, you got a Dell.. I lol'd

Never been impressed with anything MAC myself. I have a very technical background though and have never had the kinds of Windows problems some casual users seem to experience. That might be a big part of it. I'll probably pick up a MAC desktop in the near future to play around with the Iphone SDK.

Love my Mac Book Pro .. haven't shut it of since I bought it 2 yrs ago .. They are expensive .. but Mik you know what I have said for yrs ... they are rock solid .. I would have been through 2 lappies by now .. If anyone is curious about Mac products . I do endorse them 1000% .. and would recommend that anyone on the fence get them selves a new 24" iMac .. not only a work of art .. but and art to work with .. you will never be disappointed ..

I have a simple Macbook on the way right now to play with. Never owned one but played with my sister's a bit. Going to take it out with me during the day for writing and email. Light stuff. 13" should be easy to swing around... :-P

The Mac Pro desktops are a waste in my opinion and I have one. I built a Hackintosh from a QuadCore HP I bought for under $700 and it just as powerful (maybe more so) than my Mac Pro that cost 4 times the price.

Edit: Nm i was wrong the dells have a decent video card also.

munki 04-20-2009 05:09 PM

I used the older macbook pro's 2-3 years ago and fell in love with them, big part of the reason I was looking at one for this round. After using the new models, and comparing side by side, hands on with the pc counterparts... I gotta go with the dell studio this time around... maybe mac will win be back on next year's update.

(doesn't mean I didn't make a few bucks snapping up some apple stock last month... thanks mactards!!! you guys made me a few bucks)

Apple is usually way behind when it comes to video cards. It wasn't that long ago they had 8800GTX as the best option. That card is very old. The same goes for their laptops, they have a 9600M as the best option. Well nVidia has a GTX280M, completely different level GPU. I'm sure the same goes if you wanted a more cad type video card.

I could go on all day about the BS apple fans eat up. They pretend Apple monitors are so great, some are good but they've been caught selling the shittest panels too (TN).

Apple = overpriced for older or same shit and sometimes even complete crap.

:2 cents::2 cents: Most of the mac vs pc arguments I've gotten into... people don't even know the guts or specs on their pcs... can't expect crap to compete with quality... pc or mac side.
