advertise.myspace + epassporte = wtf
 

so, I tried to sign up @ advertise.myspace using my virtual epass account.

The transaction was declined...

I'm not sure if I retried with the epass card or was just double charged (it's happened before).


Just checked my epassporte account and seen this:
why would there be a hold, if the transaction was declined? hm :error

The merchant you used the card at sent an authorization to us we placed a pending charge for the amount then the Merchant declined the transaction.
Since its a debit card we have to hold the money for 30 days.

If you see a pending charge when something like this happens its the Merchant that declined the transaction

why would they decline when the money was in there and me get a hold on my money tho

doesnt make sense.. since it was declined there shouldnt be a hold IMO

There can be different reasons.
That you are in the USA and use a card issued outside USA.
Its a debit card, its a virtual card and so on.

Happens on gas tanks when you enter a wrong zipcode.
Happens to us when a client does the wrong three digit code or expiration..

It'll fall off in a few hours.. or a few days.. depending on epassporte's policy.

NOW... Myspace could call epassporte with the decline code.. and epassporte could get rid of it quicker.. but only once they know for sure that it was a true decline...

I was using a REALLY SHITTY phone sex call center when I first started... and they preauth'd a guy for $2,190 instead of $21.90 on CHRISTMAS EVE... because of an incorrect zipcode... the companies can choose to get it off quicker... but most don't want to go through the effort.

I was told from other companies that the reason for decline is that it is offshore.

Since its a debit card the Merchant have 30 days to complete the transaction and we must hold the Pending amount for those 30 days.
We can drop it before if we get a fax from the merchant stating that they will not complete the transaction.
