IllTestYourGirls 04-16-2009 06:13 PM

Depends. How much do you need to live?

JD 04-16-2009 06:17 PM

making enough sales to not need a "job" makes you a webmaster

When you make your living in this bidneess full time.

No more of your 9-5 fry cook kingdom.

:2 cents:

FrozenJag 04-16-2009 07:06 PM

Yep, I agree.

When you become full time then I would call that successful for sure. I see alot of people become happy with their spot and quit pushing forward though. Such a waste and in times like this you will be going out of business.

WarChild 04-16-2009 07:10 PM

Well 1 sale a day average is less than a minimum wage job in the developed World, so I guess that would make you a webmaster but just not a successful one. On the other hand, 1 sale a day is somewhere around twice the average family income in Costa Rica, so I guess that would me you a successful webmaster in the third world.

notoldschool 04-16-2009 07:21 PM

1 sale a day is nowhere near success in my book. Not saying making sales are easy, but in reality it is. You work hard enough you can do better.

That's a good point. Leave it to WC to bring the international flavor.

I was thinking mainly in the USD, American standards but you're right. What it takes for US/UK to be considered 'successful' will be completely different in developing, or third world.

So true. :thumbsup

Iron Fist 04-16-2009 09:45 PM

As an affiliate, 1 sale a day is fine, especially for part timers like me :)

Good definition.

NinjaSteve 04-16-2009 09:51 PM

I think a person is "successful" when they can afford to live off of their money webmaster income. Once you achieve this, you should set levels you want to reach and then call that being successful. Or sustain an income you want.

1 sale per day * $30 on average sale would be $900 a month. - expenses (- tax money you set aside) = profit.

So basically....
1 sale a day = $10,800 a year
2 sales a day = $21,600 a year
3 sales a day = $32,400 a year

... and so on... but don't forget taxes , hosting , and other expenses.

or if ya own your site with SEO traffic...

1 sale a day = 35K
2 " = 70K
3 " = 105K

That's personal experience...

Blingbaby 04-16-2009 10:14 PM

Damn, slaves are so easy to come by..

StariaDaniel 04-17-2009 01:16 AM

Well, if you send your traffic to revshare sites that update regularly, keep the members for a long time you can make decent money with one signup per day as it's 1 sale + x recurring after a few months - but that's just my opinion :)

mynameisjim 04-17-2009 01:46 AM

5-10 sales a day can easily make you $100K+ a year if you pick your sponsors right.

Even in a big American city, $100k and working from home is pretty good and I would call someone like that successful. Heck, someone who makes $50K a year and gets to work from home is doing better than 90% of the population. They won't be anywhere close to being rich but not having to work for the man......you can't put a price on that.

How come, when I sign up for your jennifercolom. program, I get signed up to VirginRiches? I can't see your site in the promomaterial there....!

Nicky 04-17-2009 02:59 AM

Well if you can live of off 1 sale a day I guess It atleast makes you a full time webmaster. The successful part is more hard to determine. I don't consider my self successful and I do more than 1 sale a day.

Angry Jew Cat - Banned for Life 04-17-2009 03:02 AM

you ain't gonna live on a sale a day. i know i sure as hell ain't going to.

you're a successful web"MASTER" when you can comfortably live solely off your online income...

Voodoo 04-17-2009 03:10 AM

Success is a journey, not a destination.

V_RocKs 04-17-2009 03:19 AM

If I made only 1 sale a day I'd shoot myself.

Sarah_Jayne 04-17-2009 03:35 AM

When you stop judging your success against somebody else's terms then you are on the right track.

how many uniques do you send daily to get your 1 sale per day?

StuartD 04-17-2009 04:48 AM

Being a "webmaster" has nothing to do with sales.

An "an affiliate in the adult online industry" and a "webmaster" are two very different things.

Klen 04-17-2009 04:49 AM

1x30x15=450$.Not much moonies if you ask me.

technically yes, but these terms mean the same in this biz

if you're an affiliate actively sending traffic to paysites and making a living from it, you're considered an adult webmaster

just like 'hits' mean 'unique visitors' :)

pornguy 04-17-2009 05:10 AM

I love the way the definition of " Webmaster " has changed. it used the be the guy who made and maintained websites. be it for fun, or for a living.. Now if you dont make a sale a day???

No it doesn't. There are plenty of site maintainers, programmers, designers, etc ... that don't really care about sales.

These are just as much (or more) a webmaster than someone who hires people to make galleries for them and submits them to some sites. :2 cents:

(yes I know most affiliates go way beyond that, especially these days, but you get the idea)

CurrentlySober 04-17-2009 06:49 AM

You know that you are a 'successful webmaster' when you dont care about sales...

But you just like poo...
