How to revise an email so people will read it

Many of these tips can apply to commercial email and also forum postings :):thumbsup Although many are "common sense", oftentimes when people are busy or under pressure from deadlines, commonsense isn't so 'common.' Check it out: http://blogs.harvardbusiness.org/sil...l-so-that.html

The skill of writing a good email is actually VERY underrated - especially business correspondence.

One thing they left out was the importance of spelling and grammar. The moment I see poor spelling, grammar or punctuation...I generally form an opinion of the writer on-the-spot.

My wife and I often collaborate on the composition of important emails; bouncing ideas off each other until we get it as close to perfect as possible.
