Streaming Videos?

I am setting up the members area of my paysite and had a question. Someone gave me some advice to make my videos streaming and not downloadable so they don't get stolen. Can anyone tell me how that's done differently as far as setting it up, or give me advice on the easiest way to do it?

streaming instead of downloading is pretty wise solution these days. your content can really be shared in a few days if it's downloadable.

btw you may contact me, i guess i'd be able to help you with this

If you make your video,s non dowloadable kiss your rebills good bye.
Just do a search om DRM and see how that went.
Most sites that retain these days have downloadable zip files for the members.
I am not saying this is the way it should be its just the way it is.
watermark your content is a better solution in my eyes.

Streaming is NOT drm, watermarking is all fine and dandy and obviously should be done, however the whole industry "roll over and take it up the ass cause 10% of your customer base will be pissed if they don't get to download and keep your expensive content" thing is retarded. Consumers are used to, and prefer streaming. If you had to download every video on youtube before you could watch it do you think it would be as popular? Streaming is what people are accustom to. If I have my dick in my hand I don't want to wait till a 600mb file downloads to watch a video. People wonder why tubes are so popular.

Instant gratification, a large variety of porn to pick from too. This whole download myth needs to stop or it will be the end of the industry for any small guys.

Do you use Adobe flash server solution or another cheaper one?

butcherboy 04-12-2009 06:28 AM

You should keep download, but to give choice to your member to stream videos!
Most users are disturbed if on their computer is found adult material and prefer to watch and forgot...

I don't give a lot of info away for free anymore lol. I consult on these things, so if you need a solution I have one in both information, and backend software + custom players that include protection to keep your content "your" content.
