While we're on the subject, does anyone know how to get rid of this number and mail box that appears for me on the top left of every image in PS7?

CTRL+H just hides extras. It's best to turn it off the way plat said.
Another way to center is go to View>Snap then go to your bottom (background) layer... and drag two guides out. One from the top, and one from the left. They will snap to center in the middle of the image. Then select your text layer or any other layer. And drag it towards the center of where the guides intersect. The text will snap to center. |
i always use CTRL+H to hide slices...

In PS7. If you click the slice tool there is a button that says, "hide auto slices"
Ctrl+H hides everything. Your selection marquee, guides... everything. |
Some really useful info there thanz guys :thumbsup
