GFY Doctors.. inner ear issue?

Over the last week I have this crackle in my left ear, kinda sounds like having water in the ear without the feeling of it.

No Pain
No Ringing
No loss of hearing

Only experience it when I burp or yawn, or move my jaw, etc

Did I tear something? rip something? wtf..

:(

your ear drum may have ruptured a little, it doesn't take much, it will go away eventually once it completely heels itself, could be a few months.

I know only one practicing doctor reading GFY ocassionally, but if this condition persists and you're worried, I'd rather consult some doctor in real life..

Stop jamming pencils in there.

Doh!

Yeah polish figured someone here might of had the problem in the past and would ask before I go sit around a waiting room for nothing.

hearing is overrated lol

CIVMatt 04-09-2009 08:06 AM

I see what you're saying

LadyMischief 04-09-2009 08:07 AM

Could be what they call 'swimmer's ear". There are drops your doc can give to help, but best to look into it because ear infections can cause permanant damage and affect your sense of balance as well.

im no doctor, but i did had that problem before.. the ENT doctor told me its just some sticky mucus stuck inside between the nose and ear.. she gave me some pill for colds for cure..

i don't think that's a torn ear drum, coz you'll feel some pain/discomfort if it is..

Vicious_B 04-09-2009 08:11 AM

You might want to go get it checked out. Even if your not having any pain now if there is some kind of tear in your eardrum and water gets in there or some kind of infection it will hurt like crazy.

Better to be safe than sorry.

That's how my tinnitus started. Now my ear never stops with the ringing.. 24-7.

ICEICEBABY 04-09-2009 08:23 AM

Your ear is going to fall off.

ICEICEBABY 04-09-2009 08:24 AM

But seriously, see a docter. Maybe you just need your ear cleaning out, spraying with some water to get some wax out. Don't leave it to GFY docters to diagnose it.

indeed :thumbsup

i had that for YEARS - it felt like my ears were plugged and sounded and felt like there were butterflies fluttering like crazy in my ears. i'd do that thing where you pinch your nose and breath out hard trying to pop my ears, put Q-tips so far into my ear canal i could touch my brain, and yes i know u can seriously fuck yourself doing that. doctors never found anything wrong nor helped - i gave up and just accepted it since it wasn't painful and my hearing was ok. then one day suddenly after YEARS, probably 3 or 4 years of that, my ear just popped and i felt like a warm liquid sensation and it stopped.

_Richard_ 04-09-2009 09:18 AM

think there is this stuff that breaks down ear wax.. going to the local pharmacy, they will point you in the right direction.. but go to the doctor

paymeback 04-09-2009 09:20 AM

I had that for about a week, would get it whenever i swallowed drove me insane ended up taking heaps of meds and drops and they did nothing then finally doctor ended up giving me one of those warm syringe into the ear like 3-4 times to get the wax out and was fine next day

that's the problem - you should be able to hear it too

Regarding the Qtip, it sometimes can make things worse. Ear grease deep in the ear can be pushed in deeper. Try and get a doctor to wash it out with high pressure water.

It will give you the same feeling as you have now with your jaw, but it will be gone soon. And your ears will be clean again.

Good lord. That has to suck huge

Ozarkz 04-09-2009 10:54 AM

From my experience it sounds like you need to have your ears cleaned by a doctor.

I had the same symptoms.

Do you also get a crackle type sound when you swallow?

My doctor also told me to NEVER use q-tips inside the ear canal they are meant for the very outside.

Your ears clean themselves.
