bump for the server extensions

You really should avoid FP; FP2002 was the last supported version for Apache, and even the Apache 2 port by Ready To Run has been discontinued and is not available. If you just want a mailer, a counter, or anything that FP offered, your best bet is to reassess your needs and have someone make that work for you with updated, supported utilities.

I definitely agree with GrouchyAdmin here. In 2002-03 we were trying to work with FP on linux and it was a failed experiment. We spent a lot of time reinstalling extensions that would just intermittently die. We haven't seen a solid product for it since.

If you could split your requirements among different environments, or consider different tools for what you are trying to accomplish you can save yourself a whole lot of downtime and hassle.

The problem I have is in 1997 when I started the people who set me up did it with FP extensions. The reasoning was good because I have a lot of sites and I did a lot of traveling. Then with 2 computers at my office and 2 at home keeping everything synched was nearly impossible. With FP I am still able to travel and work on any of my sites from anywhere. Currently I administrate over 20 sites on 8 different hosts and it has been very reliable since the beginning. A couple of my sites were recently moved to a new host and they are having a tough time getting things going. Most of the problems could be cured easily if we could locate the extension installation pack.
