** FfvB v2 released! Come and get it! **

There's way to much new about it to write in here, so check out the info here:
TyCamTech.com

I've fixed a lot, added a lot, changed some things... and if you already use it, all your old preferences and lists will still work.

This is absolutely free, of course... but donations are always welcome. I added a donate button to the top right of the page if you feel so inclined but there's certainly no obligation.

I hope you like it, and for those non-firefox users, sorry. There's no other browser versions coming out any time soon.

Looks nice.

Iron Fist 04-07-2009 09:43 PM

Bump for you!

jact 04-07-2009 09:46 PM

I actually just installed it. I'm really quite impressed with the number of features you've packed into this thing.

uno 04-07-2009 09:52 PM

Awesome Stuart!

It's not that I don't believe you but, it's not really possible. My extension has no effect on either of those things. It doesn't reference bookmarks at all and does nothing to the CSS of the page.

Are you sure it was my extension that did those things?

Yes, I really want this to be known for what it adds, not just what it takes away.
The ignore list is how this was born but since then, a LOT has gone into it to add to the forum experience as well.

With the highlight feature, you can highlight users, threads... even keywords. For example, our friend Splum can highlight the word 'obama' and find it more easily.

The bottom bar makes forum navigation much easier, but if you don't like having it there, you can hide it.

You can import your existing ignore list very easily... when you visit the ignore list page in vBulletin, the extension will add a button to import it into it ffvb. Press the button and it's done!

The sidebar option will put the thread list into the sidebar, plain text. You can see the titles, thread starters, replies and views... and have it refresh as regular intervals of your choosing. You can also choose if the links should open in the existing tab, a new tab or in a background tab.
This basically means that you can see GFY's threads updating while being at a totally different website.

Magic Paste automatically adds the [IMG][/IMG] tags when you paste an image into a post.

There's more too, but the idea is... I want this to make vbulletin better, not just eliminate trolls. But it does that really well too :)

Angry Jew Cat - Banned for Life 04-08-2009 05:16 AM

magic paste is pretty sweet :thumbsup

farkedup 04-08-2009 06:38 AM

Why not? Your product is very useful but seeing I really hate using FF and rather not have to use different browsers for different websites it would really help if you made different versions.

I welcome anyone who'd like to put in the time and work.. I'll happily work with them and share all of my work, but I haven't even taken the first step into learning how to get extensions into IE or other browsers.

And I really don't have the time to put into learning it, much less converting it all and bug fixing it.

That and the fact that I do this for free (with the except of maybe $35 in donations over the last year), it's really not worth my time to over extend myself. If there was more support, perhaps... but for now, it's just a fun side project of mine.

Exactly. Firefox is what I use, and thus... it's what I develop for (extensions anyway).

oh, speaking of which, I didn't mention it, the latest version of my extension allows you to ignore people's avatars and signatures. So you can strip out the ones you want, rather than tell vBulletin to turn them off completely.

stickyfingerz 04-08-2009 06:49 AM

Google Chrome Google Chrome Google Chrome... someday hehe. :winkwink:

UFGators2007 04-08-2009 06:52 AM

Sweet, thanks!

Fletch XXX 04-08-2009 06:53 AM

i wish there was a way to give people on your ignore a message or something if they post in your thread trolling you lol

these idiots i put on my ignore quote and reply to me all day everyday and I never see what they say, but its funny they just keep going and going and going even though we never see what they type.

then again, dont add any feature of notification, let the idiots keep wasting their time.

Both Chrome and Safari use webkit. So it would seem if you develop for one you could do the other.

This is true, I could start in on Safari I guess, although I've found very little documentation on building extensions for it.

Still though, I'd rather hand it off to someone who can at least help or something, because it's just not worth it to me at this point.

Fletch just ignores people so he can tell them he's ignoring them. It's sad.

Funny thing is he always knows when people troll him.. but he has them on ignore?

:1orglaugh People that use ignore for trolls are pussies.

This comes up on every board that even breaths the word 'ignore' but the fact is, just because you CAN deal with them, doesn't mean you HAVE to deal with them.

If you don't want to see the news because it's depressing, turn the channel or turn the tv off. If you don't want to eat crappy food, don't eat at fast food places. If you don't want to see people spewing hate every time you post, put them on ignore.
That doesn't mean you can't watch the news or eat the crappy food. It just means you've made a choice not to.

It doesn't make you weak or anything, it just means you've exercised your right to ignore someone.

No. It makes them a vagina. :1orglaugh

They can't deal with it. that's the point. they can't tell the person to fuck off in a way that makes them fuck off, they can't resolve problems with people, etc..

Wait.. what? How exactly do you do that?

I'm thinking you don't have much experience with message boards. :2 cents:
