Popups Yea or naw
 

Do you think amateur sites such as mine should have popups going to other sites of mine OR should I make it so my webmasters make money off the popups with specials *shrugs*

Personally, I hate them and I don't like going to a few sites cause of that... it's a pain but they do work. Hard to say :2 cents:

You should keep them within your sites, give the webmaster the credit. I also think giving the webmaster an option for a reduced payout without the popups is a nice feature.

Think of it this way man

Lets say you have 1000 members to make this easy.

so 1000 x 29.95 = 29,950.00

now minus out 60% to your webmasters 17,970.

lets say a 10% proccessing fee 2950.00

5% hold back 1497.00

so
29,950. total rev
17970. to webmasters.
2950. for proccessing
1497. for hold back
-----------
6080. left

but you still have hosting
1000 members burning your bandwith watching your movies and loading your pics.
be nice say! And i say being nice becuase when your running a site with 1000 members you better be spending top dollar on hosting to make sure that site is well maintained. plus back up servers too

but wait we still have not added in charge backs refunds and revoked checks.
that number can flux every month..

also pay your income taxes

and in every biz you have to set aside a monthly slug fund for unexspected things.

also you need to have a advertising budget.

What does pop ups do

makes you extra income also gives you a opertunity to make trades with co. hey you send me 50 sign ups a month ill send you 50 sign ups a month.

i dont believe in the mass amounts of pop ups off a paysite but i think one or 2 easy to close pops is very effective and will make you some extra income.

You need to realize something about running a site it is not easy it is not cheap and the more members you get does not mean more money all the time. cost ad up per member and you need to do the math to figure out how much each member cost you.

so adding a pop or 2 to make your self a living can only help.

offer the tours with no pops for the webmasters that choose it . but keep your main tour with them so you can max on your traffic. if you dont your just letting traffic go to waste. i was very against pop ups till a large co. said hey put us up will put you up. it will make you think twice trust me..
