and if the rumors of a google buyout of twitter do come to bloom, you can probably expect a merger of the searches to be a part of google search. just like google video and youtube videos appear in the serps now. which if does come around, offers loads of opportunities to rape twitter. as though there aren't plenty already...

Facebook should acquire twitter. I honestly feel Facebook, through Facebook Connect, Twitter/their own status updates, and their massive social user base has a chance of competing with Google in search in a few years should they wish. I've noticed many people already setting facebook to their homepage above Google, if they developed a search engine integrating the whole social aspect it could be big.

actually I know people that don't go anywhere on the internet except facebook, older people newbs that are intimidated by things like google but like the safety of facebook with all their friends and relatives.... it is scary but you could give them an internet completely enclosed and insulated by the Facebook application and they would be just as happy...

I honestly admit that I don't understand the attraction to Twitter though (not talking about webmasters here who see it as a moneymaker to exploit), but strictly from a user perspective..... I've gone to twitter maybe half a dozen times ever, and very quickly became very bored by the whole concept and clicked it closed. Don't see the thrill or point to it at all

Part of what I like about you $5 is that you are always embracing new traffic methods and then finding ways to get even more out of them

First they'll have to do something about the frequency of fail that goes down on twitter. and that is going to be a task...

I hear you. Today is extremely painful. Got the fail whale a few times trying to log on. Then tweet updates slow to a crawl. Very erratic.
