WTF I spent over $1k on xbox's the past 24 hours!
I've been buying up a ton of them that are broken and I just pulled an all nighter and fixed 20 systems that I can turn around and sell now LOL
Now I can't do anything else until I get more parts in the mail LOL What a mess all over the place I haven't put the cases back together yet... I took them all apart and just started tossing the pieces all over! Anybody want to have an X clamp fight? They're like ninja stars. Some of them are even sharp as hell! I sliced my thumb yanking on one of them and it gushed ALL over the place for a while. After my wife put a Hello Kitty bandaid on it I went back to work after popping a vicodin... Now its 7AM and I'm eating cap'n crunch while some systems sit there playing some game demos to make sure they're stable and burn them in a lil |
funny how many people give up on their dead xbox when they can be so easy to fix...

Some people just don't care, same as they trade in their new 7 series after a year. (also with a big loss ofcourse) :2 cents: |
I've bought some locally for as little as $10! power brick, cables too.... Most I'll pay for a dead system is $35 and I'll toss in extra for cables but I always lowball the shit out of people at first. the $10 systems + 45 minutes of work then a quick profit :)
The best con is the "trade-in" where I give them like $20 for their system only and then get another $60 out of them for the console I repaired... I've been working things out with some small gamestop wannabe stores and getting a bunch from those places. |

Amazon dealers are out of stock of the screws I need :( both cheesehead and pan head. spent some time searching but didn't really find any others that would work and are eligible for prime 2 day free shipping. I might just have to order a bunch from some other sources and just wait for them to come in. |
Yea I give props to ya farkedup for being able to do this, its a niche :)

my fingertips hurts like hell and my soft computer guy hands aren't really made for messing with so much solid steel LOL.
I ended up getting pretty lucky and actually got some Lite-on drives in todays haul which is odd, those drives I thought were only used in the latest revision that isn't very old. |
this thread is useless without pics

yea I been fixing Wii's for a little while now I got one off ebay 'disc read error' plugged it in and it worked fine. twilight hack with the legend of zelda game for the wii gets you every single nintendo and snes game ever made.
|
I actually had 2 of them that I had demo's running a solid hour and never found a problem with! I put a sticky note on them that says WTF! I'll just have to use it as an excuse to play a few hours of rock band 2 on it
|
That is pretty cool actually. We had ours (have 2) fixed a couple times and usually doesn't take much to get them back and working. Twice MS did it for free with a fast turnaround too.
|
there is few things more satisfying then disassembling something and putting it back together in working order.
same reason i started to do all my own car repairs. |
I've always got a pile of broken 360s on hand. There's a pile of 6 of them sitting here next to me now.
Put an ad on craigslist saying that you buy the broken one and see how many calls you get. |
Wiis and DSs are the worst to open and put back together. The 360 is a snap.
You have the little tool you can use to crack them open in about 30 seconds right? |
Post Pics!

The most common is the Red Ring of Death. It's not too difficult to fix though. And can make for a nice side business. |

My PS3 was fucked a few weeks back. Sent it back to Sony and it took 3 weeks all in for me to get it back. Pain in the ass... |
I want some broken ps3 money. I like taking stuff apart - farked, hit me up! wolfyman aT gmail

errrr xbox 360 I mean. Typing faster than I'm thinking here :D

Basically the key is finding a few people to buy bulk broken 360's from. A guy within driving distance from me gets them from all kinds of weird places and sells them to me so SOMEWHERE there's a supplier selling them way cheaper than I'm currently buying them for LOL |
Do you just buy a bunch then mix and match parts to get them working?

I make some nice extra cash marking up his old NES and SNES games to resell on eBay. |
Good job dude, there's a lot of money in modding existing and working 360's.

Being able to get them fixed up in under an hour is a nice selling point. I should charge more for instant service LOL |
oh and I found another dealer within driving distance of me... Basically I can get my hands on about 70 a week now without having to deal with ebay at all!
I think I'll probably still troll around ebay for broken elite systems with all the parts. |
oh good, the credit card finally shut down LMAO I think I won't call on it for a few days... Not being able to order more shit is probably a good thing.
