Why does Europe and USA import so much shit?

Why not create more jobs by getting products made in our countries and tax import higher, sure, things will be more pricey, but more people will have jobs and We'll be keeping more of our money and export more. Thats why China ownes more dollars than the US. :winkwink:

if we stop buying the "shit" that we really don't need, it would stop...

i am guilty of going to walmart for a couple of things and end up buying shit that i really didn't need and spending 250 bucks more than i planned. i stopped going to walmart...

cuz its cheap.
Youre a parent and have a chocie of buying $3 play doh for your kid or $19.95 play doh what will you take?
You can buy a $1 frisbee or a $14 frisbee thats exactly the same, what do you take?
A $4 towel or a $40 towel thats exactly the same.
why would someone pay too much for the same thing?

If it's produced in the US, the money stays in the US. Thats the point I'm trying to make.

Youre on a budget and have a family to feed.
You need to buy something and can pay an American company $10, or a chinese company $1 for the exact same item.
What do you choose?

the american companies have minimum wages, unions, pension plans, 401k, they have to raise their prices for that.
the chinese companies have none of that and pay their employees 5 cents an hour, or whatever.
so we get the chinese stuff and pay less.

You really are stoned.

You learned your lesson tho. Don't post while stoned.

It simply costs too much to manufacture anything in North America or Europe.. Some things are still manufactured here and you pay a premium for it.

Wages, unions, materials, etc everything costs too much to manufacture here.

You wanna pay $15 for a bic pen because the idiot who puts the pens in a box wants a standard American wage?

In North America and Europe the only products we manufacture anymore are the products you douche bags pirate.

Thing is, what else should we do with unemployed people - just pay them benefits while they can have a job making stuff for our countries?

Its simple, Companies in the USA and many European companies have stuff manufactured in China to maximize their profits. Here's an real stupid example. I buy hundreds of pounds of COD for my restaurants in San Diego. its expensive but its caught in Alaska gutted and packed on board and back to me within 15 hours of catching.

Most fish is caught and frozen sent to China defrosted gutted and re frozen then shipped to the USA weeks later. I have to charge 30% more for my Fish and Chips, but its fresher, caught and prepared by Americans and in front of my customers within 15 hours of it swimming in the ocean.

Few people understand or care why my British style Fish and Chips are more expensive because it tastes better and it's a huge piece of fish, 16oz or more.

Are you as Americans willing to pay 25-50% more for almost everything you buy, I doubt it ?

PS
Any webmasters in Mission Beach can drop by Cafe Joie and get an amazing Bail Out BurgerŪ 100% Angus Beef for just $3.99 including fries.

we lost control and perspective outlook on things, imports should be taxed to be on the same level to compete with domestic products, not outplay them by ridiculously cheaper costs. greed moved all the $$$ and jobs to china. but looking from another perspective who would want to work at factories? - i guess in the future many folk
