Used to live down there so I've been watching it. Guy backed his car up to block the rear exit from the building too.. totally premeditated. What a fucked up person to do something like that :(

(CNN) -- A lone gunman began shooting Friday in an immigration services building in Binghamton, New York, killing at least four people, a law enforcement source close to the situation said.

The source said more than a dozen were wounded.

Police on the scene told CNN affiliate WBNG-TV that up to 12 people were killed in the shooting.

Two people were seen being led from the building in plastic handcuffs, WBNG reported. It was not immediately known whether the two were under arrest.

A man began shooting in the American Civic Association, which helps immigrants and refugees, the source said.

The source said there may have been 20 to 40 people taken hostage.

The local newspaper, the Press & Sun-Bulletin, said on its Web site that at least four people were shot and 41 people had been taken hostage.

NOW they're saying the LONE gunman is dead and the two who were in custody simply fit the initial description.

About 40 people have been taken hostage and several others shot in the US state of New York, say reports.

Unconfirmed local media reports said a number of people have been killed during the incident.

Several people were in the buildings of the American Civic Association (ACA) in Binghamton, north of New York City, when the attacker or attackers entered.

Many have now left the building and the police are reported to have taken away two people in handcuffs.

It is not clear whether they were attackers.

Yeah at least 13 dead, including the gunman. A 42 year old Binghamton man was the gunman, vietnamese american named Gavierle Voon (probably spelled it way wrong).

Just for reference Binghamton is about 3 hours away from New York City...it in the boonies.

So it happened at an immigration office.

A) The gunman was an illegal immigrant who snapped.
B) The gunman was a "patriotic American" who snapped.

Either way, prepare for a huge immigration debate to blow up over this.
