Cam Companies? Question?
What is the optimal setup for a Cam girl equipment wise? I've heard varying opinions.

Hopefully a successful cam girl like Aliyah posts in here.....she does a ton of business with webcams.com i know she's like one of their top girls.
Thats who i would ask.........first off. Then i would ask like Blake @ webcams....& Mickey at AWE for their professional opinion. |

Your basically need to have a comfortable place to work, avoid working from a computer desk or sofa you tend to get a bit relaxed and lazy, beds are better, futons tend hurt more on the body. Lighting 100 watts is best, its trial and error to figure out how to position the lights to ge them just right. it all depends on how many lamps you will need, it varies depending on how many colours you have in your background set up and also skin tone of the model and what is wearing, and also the type of camera you are using different webcams and video cameras show different quality of colours. Computer, anything about a p3 is good, some webcams studios run them on the bare minimum when I was running a studio i had the girls on 4 gig harddrives just enough to run windows and the webcam platform. There is many ways of connecting your camera if its a video camera you plan on using one option is getting the Osprey Capture Card is good if you want your camera connected directly into your hardware, alot of the Sony-EVI camera are connected that way, I connect my camera using a product from dazzle aka pinnacle, a video capture usb device and you can also connect your camera using a tv turner. again all these options are trial and error. if your using a webcam you want to make sure you get the webcam that has high quality lens and also over 2 mega pixels. if you can get them higher that is great. Internet speed go with a package that is above 3 mbp high speed internet . the higher you can get the better |

Logitech Webcam or a Sony DV Cam. A decent sized monitor. (do you want to be comfortable seeing the screen or hunched over a keyboard?) Bluebooth headset for conversations and a wireless keyboard and mouse. Nothing worse than watching a model fumble with wires and shit when you're trying to rub one out. Pan & Tilt tripod (http://www.amazon.com/eBenk-Automati.../dp/B000KNMGR2) |
I'll drop you a line on icq Jay.

Really depends on what you want to deliver.. Honestly, if you are going to put time and money into it, Do it right. Plenty of lights, soft and hard or what ever makes the girl look the best. If you have the software to deliver a HD show then do so. More money from a bigger show screen.
Jay We have a great new program and I am sure we can work out a deal with you.. ICQ me. 174228679 |
Quagmire pretty much nailed it. You don't necessary need the pan and tilt tripod if you get the webcams that follow movement. A good mic in place of the bluetooth headset will work well and I tend to prefer that instead of seeing the bluetooth.

It's not as much of an issue these days, but make sure, for the love of god, you have a solid internet connection. Too many times girls will complain the site is flaky when it's their own internet connection dropping packets and causing disconnections.
