Caffeine withdrawal blows

And I didn't even really think I had much of it in my diet. I drink green tea a lot though and I decided it was time to go decaf. I haven't had a single caffeinated beverage in week now. Everything is decaf or water.

The headaches have faded but still think it is working its way out of my system.

Anybody else been cutting down their caffeine?

cardinalvices 03-26-2009 07:00 AM

I had to do that since I was ill last weekend. No regrets, green tea is healthier and lets me sleep better.

AssPirate 03-26-2009 07:02 AM

Coffee wrecks havoc in my tummy. I used to get really acidic and it made my life miserable. Peptobismal became my friend. I stopped cold turkey two years ago and just eat fresh GREEN apples to keep me awake. It works for me.

HorseShit 03-26-2009 07:05 AM

I've noticed green tea seems to have a lot of caffeine

I'm not cutting back though, drinking more than ever of coffee, no calorie soda, etc.

Brad Mitchell 03-26-2009 07:06 AM

I tried it once... headaches and body/muscle aches galore. The most pain that I ended up having was actually in my thighs. As it turns out, it stores itself in your body and like a crack head your body goes nuts when you remove it from your diet.

Brad

pornguy 03-26-2009 07:06 AM

No. Cant.. Need. It. aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh

AssPirate 03-26-2009 07:09 AM

You can eliminate the caffeine in green tea by pouring hot water of about half the contents of the cup. After a minute, throw out the water. Refill the cup again with hot water and you get green tea without caffeine. That's what my Chinese colleague tells me when she brings me some tea leaves.

or just buy decaf ..which is what I am doing

Fletch XXX 03-26-2009 07:24 AM

withdrawal from all drugs sucks heheh

the worse was alcohol for me, i laid in bed for 9 day shaking sweating, DTs, wanted to die, felt like i was.

those who claim to drink dont know what its like to wake up shaking and need a drink to calm your jittering hands

The half life of caffine is about 6 hours so it take 24 hours to get rid of 93.75% of it.

LiveDose 03-26-2009 07:43 AM

I just had 4 cups of car dealership coffee. That's how bad I try to avoid withdrawal headaches...

Well, it sure feels like it is taking longer for my body to get used to it not being around.

cherrylula 03-26-2009 07:58 AM

yeah that is why I just drink decaf. I'm actually one of those people who likes the flavor of coffee and milk in the morning so I don't really drink it to wake up. And decaf still has some caffeine in it but it doesn't do quite the same thing as evil caffeine.

I still can only handle two cups of decaf.

it will mess up your sleep patterns and everything, caffeine.

Vicious_B 03-26-2009 10:21 AM

I can't imagine what a hot mess I would be without caffeine.

WarChild 03-26-2009 10:23 AM

Caffeine is a Eugenic so why in the hell woul I want to cut it out?

Stronger, better, faster through Science, I always say.

It takes time but once you are done with the withdrawls you will not miss caffeine at all. I cut caffeine out of my diet two years ago and do not regret it at all. :winkwink:

tranza 03-26-2009 12:42 PM

I don't think about cutting it off, that's because I don't drink caffeine that much..

BradM 03-26-2009 12:43 PM

I don't have a lot of it... but when I did I was taking 2-400mg per day with broncaid as an energy supplement stack and I noticed zero "withdrawl" effect.

OK, I laughed.

fuzzylogic 03-26-2009 01:58 PM

i am actually sitting with a pile of coffee beans on my desk. i chew them up - about 20 beans each day for my dose. life is better without caffeine but i dont have the power to say no.

decaf is chemically treated to remove caffeine. more over, cheap green tea from china may be loaded with pesticides.

PornMD 03-26-2009 02:35 PM

I don't drink coffee but used to be a major soda addict. I quit soda for about a year starting close to 2 years ago (now I might have a sode once every 2-3 weeks but def. not addicted to it anymore) and it was really tough...not just because of the caffeine but also having a lot less sugar. Ironically recently I got some green tea "fat burner" caffeine pills which I'm been trying. It's hard to tell if they really do much for energy but I do seem to crash a while after taking them.

WebairGerard 03-26-2009 02:54 PM

I used to be a coffee madman. now just a mug or 2 in the morning.

XPays 03-26-2009 02:56 PM

don't take my sunshine away

OG LennyT 03-26-2009 03:06 PM

I replaced caffeine addiction with alcohol addiction.. what was worse, I don't know

Rakie 03-26-2009 03:09 PM

Soda is a fucking bitch...

I was off soda for almost a year, drinking nothing but tea's and water.. The funny thing is if you stop drinking soda for about a month, and you have a sip... It tastes terrible, fucking rancid.

The sad thing is my family was buying way too much soda those days, and i would have no options but soda, too lazy to go to a store and pickup water. so I shrugged it off, and had a soda, even though it was terrible, what harm could it cause huh ?

Well I'm back up to 3 a day... I need to quit again, it's more destructive than cigarettes.

alias 03-26-2009 03:12 PM

I don't drink coffee.

99% of what I drink daily is Coke.. Not diet coke or no caffeine coke. I think my blood is caffeinated at this point. I usually drink about 4 710ml bottles per day, sometimes 5 so that's 8 to 10 cans per day. Been that way for the last 12+ years.

Jim_Gunn 03-26-2009 05:20 PM

I drink two or three cups of black/green/white tea per day usually after breakafast and before my workout. I like the caffeine buzz but I will not have it at night. Moderation is the key.

God damn, or you over weight?

SBJ 03-26-2009 05:31 PM

this last dec and part of jan I spent 3 and a half weeks in the hospital and I didn't have any caffeine or alcohol and looking back at it i'm thinking some of the fevers i had might have been dts and stuff cause i know i sure had the shakes a few days and nights. After I got released I went back to drinking my red bull, dr pepper, and mt dew but haven't had any alcohol.. I told my mom who wants me to stop the red bull .. "one miracle at a time and that is alcohol"

good luck to you :thumbsup

Careful buddy. That shit WILL kill you. Knew a girl whose uncle drank like, a 6 pack a day, he suffered a stroke, kept on chuggin 'em, died of a heart attack less than 2 years later I believe.

It's hard to crack but totally worth it... I'm going to try and get off it again, this thread reminded me how nice it was being off soda.

tony286 03-26-2009 10:42 PM

Ouch..I can't even drink full fat coke anymore without it feeling like my teeth are rotting as I drink.

bausch 03-27-2009 05:40 AM

I can't function without 1 cup of coffee in the morning.. Physically unable to read emails or comprehend them, read message boards or do anything. It feels like I'm in a fog and partially blind and have maybe 20 percent of my reasoning skills/brain power/brain function.

I would not be able to get ready to even go anywhere without coffee.

I never understood how people can drive to go buy coffee in the morning, how can they even get there without coffee already in their system? To be even able to put clothes on, back out the car, drive there. Even if it's only 5 minutes away it takes too much energy and is not possible without coffee already in the body.

There were times where I accidentally ran out of coffee and resorted like a crackhead to finding a really old bottle of instant coffee that hardened and banged it to get every crystal out of it cause i couldnt function without it.

One day the water was turned off for repairs and i was so desperate i ended up drinking instant coffee with cold water. Anything to get that caffeine, never mind the taste.

I don't even drink a lot of coffee. Only 1 cup a day! But i NEED that one cup to get me through the day. So I can live. If I don't have that one cup I will die. If you call me on the phone before I have had coffee i won't even know what you are talking about. I might hang up!

Does Coke in Canada use High Fructose Corn Syrup or real sugar?

ingredients: carbonated water, sugar/glucose, fructose, caramel colour, phosphoric acid, natural flavour.

so both.

tiger 03-27-2009 09:32 AM

You think that is bad try going off sugar. Cut all sugar out of your diet and watch how bad the headaches are, after a day or two you will start to feel them.

I have been eating Low GI for a few years now..been through that when I first moved to eating slow burning carbs. Now, if I have something sugary I pretty much feel hyper and high right away.
