damn I love shooting in Keywest Pics (Non Nude)

I was going through some stuff from last fall this morning when I found some more stuff from Keywest.
How many other places can you end up with a real ship wreck on a quite beach all to yourselves.
The coast gaurd came along tagged it and off they went, they said it was drug runners, pirates or an insurance job.
Think I may take up residence there one day, but they seem imune to the housing crunch, no deals to be had at all.:(

I keep threatening the wife that I will move there buy a scooter for 400 bucks and work making margaritta's for tourists all day.
Working for five bucks and hour and tips seems pretty stress free.
She thinks Im kidding

I'm with you, and actually given some thought to this, they are paying 35k to be the guy at the scooter rental store. 35k to rent scooters, and drive them around. The only problem is that you better have your house paid off, or you won't be able to survive on 35k down in the keys.

JimmiDean 03-26-2009 08:17 AM

You can rent there pretty cheap :)

Ya it was at one time but most of the navigation had been stripped and the rudder was destroyed.
Real shame.

UFGators2007 03-26-2009 10:37 AM

JimmiDean, is that down by Zachary Taylor?

Oh, I thought you said you love shooting at Kanye West. I'd love to see that.

JD,

Recently lived in Key West for about two years. On the surface it's paradise, with a lot of positives, but financially it's unforgiving.

Your average Joe requires at least one job to survive there, and a roommate/housemate to split rent. If you're wealthy enough to afford a nice house, all the town's temptations will drain your checking account. That's the catch: so much to do, but so damn expensive to do it. (Everything from gas to food costs more there.)

I loved Key West, but might as well have tossed my wallet into the Gulf.

You got it.
We were actually going to shoot at the fort for the second day in a row and stubbled upon this.
It is one ofhe quietest and nicest beaches anywhere.
And as mentioned above Keywest is not known for beaches but this one is all sand and a great place.
Hopfully to retire one day or maybe even sooner.::thumbsup

Nice pics indeed! :thumbsup

Raf1 03-26-2009 12:16 PM

nice pics. How is the temperature there at the moment?

NikKay 03-26-2009 12:46 PM

I lived there for 4 years and totally loved it... but definitely expensive, hard to find people younger than 50 to befriend (most younger people are just visiting), and hurricanes are a pain in the ass.

Renting a house cost me $2,500 a month and buying one cost me $400K, even apartments aren't very cheap in comparison to most other places.

Beautifully taken images.

Denny 03-26-2009 02:20 PM

I love Key West. It's a magical place, where life has a different (slower) rhythm. Mmmm... One of my favorite towns on Earth.

thanks for the pics, baby!
