Any quick way to get DV tapes to digital?
I have tons of DV tapes id like to get onto a a hard drive.
Any machines or systems that can do it or is the only way one at a time? |
bump for the graveyard shift

The only way I know is capturing one at a time. Very mind numbing lol

I feel your pain, doing it right now with 400 tapes myself.

one by one..thats why hdd hd cameras are better :P
|
only way to do it faster is set up more machines and have extra camcorders

Eventually I figure tape will die and hopefully their well be fast rewriteable blu ray disk archive quality. Then it will be the mind numbing burning of all those files.

One by one is the only way.

I just loaded 5 years of content onto 2 harddrives... 1 by one, folder by folder, hour by hour, day by day, month by month. It took 4 months. Then I edited ever single scene. If there is a better way, please don't tell me lest I hang myself with a firewire cable.

having to dump a tape to drive is no big deal for me for the piece of mind knowing that if my drives fuck up i still have my shit not to mention HDV is a bit better quality, less compressed and easier to process |
If some goe hd cams go flash. I got one to play with. Had it for little over a year.didnt use it for work and the harddrive is now unstable on it. 1k had it for a little over a year and its a piece of garbage now.
