need a dedicated server
i did my search in the gfy archive and am still unsure what options would be best.
i'm running two very RAM intensive programs in addition to the usual stuff: In addtion to a gigabyte RAM and a couple of hard drives, I need *A current version of Perl 5 (version 5.004 or better), *Perl database modules: DBI and the appropriate DBD module for your database. *MySQL 3.22+ *Need mod_perl for best performance *PHP v4.02 or better with track_vars and short_open_tag turned on as well as the appropriate database support. *Ability to create a "catch-all" email account. * Ability to run cron jobs every couple of minutes. *run a pop server *plesk should be onboard i only need 50 to 60 mb bandwidth, burstable of course. I would also be moving numerous domains/subdomains over to the new server and I don't want any hassle/charges in moving them all over. In other words, I'd like an excellent machine and grow the bandwidth later. All over course at a reasonable cost. Suggestions? |
Most full service hosts offer all of those things :thumbsup
Might i suggest oxeo? |

LikeWhoa's hosting is the best host I have had out of the 4 others that I have been at previously. Support is good.. availible on phone, email and icq most of the time..
You can contact Stan (icq 3302961 or email [email protected]), and he'll get you whatever you need. Oh, and tell him I sent you and he'll give ya a discount too. :) Cheers, Matt |
RackShack.net
For the money, it don't get no better than RS. I've had their dedicated servers for while and my scripts run 24/7 eating up about 50-75% system resources (domain extraction scripts). You get 400 gigs of bandwidth with every server and the stuff you mentioned as well. Their dedicated servers start at $99 (I got a few P4 1.8, 512 ram, 40 gig hd for $139.99). They also offer Linux, Plesk-Linux, Ensim-Linux. Customer service is ok, but if you know jack shit about servers you'll do fine without it. Luc L. |
Hello archer,
We can provide everything you need plus some of the best support in the biz. We have some new pricing on a new product line that isn't "officially" rolled out yet, so give me a shout at bill AT national-net DOT com and I'll work something for ya... |
Everything is in sig:thumbsup

Why not buy your own server, and simply co-locate it somewhere? You might come out ahead, if you're only renting rackspace and paying for the bandwidth you use.

I tried Rackshack a while and it isn't bad at all.
