Damn dogs destroyed my A/C!!!
 

I just had a contractor redo the entire system in October... New unit and ducts. Bad enough I can hardly cut my backyard without a weapon because my neighbor's damn rottweilers try to jump the fence and attack me... Now these fuckers have dug under the fence, squeezed under my house and ripped my supply and return ducts to shreds. Unit is only 5 months old and is possibly fucked.

yup I hate how sue happy people are these days but this is one time I would totally agree with it if you've talked to your neighbor and told them about this

Assuming your neighbor is like most other people and will deny any responsibility.. If they are reasonable people I hope you can settle without any legal pressure.

I talked with him and he's supposed to have his hvac man come and fix it first thing tomorrow... He is a contractor himself. I told him I don't want any fucking shitty work or I'd be getting it fixed correctly and sending his ass a summons.
I let him know I'm fucking tired of his dogs and I can hardly use my own fucking backyard in peace and now this... He apologized several times and said I won't have a problem from the dogs anymore. Alegedly he's gonna put up another fence to partition off his backyard to keep his dogs away from my fence... We'll see. I may file a nuisance animal complaint against him anyway.

He's had to come get them out of my backyard and from under my house several times before so he knows they did it.

sue him! his house insurance will pay for your damages. Also, call animal services and complain about the danger those dogs pose. They'll force the guy to make a decent fence that will keep the dogs away from you and most importantly: away from your AC unit
