Anyone Here Use Clearwire?
There is a crazy Clearwire/Direct TV bundle being offered in my area and I was thinking about making the jump...
Thoughts... |
I never heard of clearwire so I googled it. Its not in my area but I did find a website clearwire sucks. makes me think I could be very careful to give them setup fees or contracts that get you stuck for something that doesnt work too well.

They are very sparse on their coverage. I wanted to get them as a backup, but no coverage..

Thanks for that link. All recent posts and not the kind of issues you want to read about with an isp. Sounds like it may be too early to jump in.:Oh crap |
It's just like the early days of cell phones, if you're in an area with good coverage it works great. 1Mbps for a mobile/wireless internet connection is nice to have. In my region of Texas, they have good coverage and so it's a good solution with a laptop.
But, check your coverage map VERY carefully and if you live/work in a downtown area or in a a building that is built like a bomb shelter, don't get it :) They have "no contract" options down here, so if you can afford it, and they offer that where you are, you can test the waters. |
