I wonder if all of you who advocate suicide get some kind of sexual gratification from sharing your brevity with this internet forum. ?

The best vitamin to be a happy person is B1.

BradM 03-19-2009 01:13 PM

It's not shocking to see this thread. You always come across as an angry and hate filled person.

who 03-19-2009 01:13 PM

What kind of foods have B1 in it?

Tom_PM 03-19-2009 01:13 PM

Want to trade? I'm sure there are those in a worse situation.

Frustrated too, I bet.

It was helpful to read what you wrote, actually. In some ways I feel like, if you smile, then the world seems better. If you frown, it seems worse. I could make a very small start on the road to being happy by making nice, supportive, useful posts on here, i suppose.. Thanks.

My situation is probably really really great compared with a few people - but it could be that that's the problem.. nothing to strive for... no direction.. Even this project I'm working on feels like it's sitting on death row.. waiting to be canned because I'm so negative about everything.. bah

Deesnuts 03-19-2009 01:17 PM

Liver is high in B1. Bacon and pork are good too. As are some nuts and yeasts.

Who isn't happy eating bacon?

I have a full pack of turkey bacon in the fridge.

BradM 03-19-2009 01:30 PM

Who,
I have made 2 changes in my life at the end of 2008:

1) I started eating considerably better. I've made a few threads about this and commented in others. I cut out red meat and pork - and gone organic. My quality of health has improved significantly.
2) I have put a considerable amount of effort in remaining positive and up beat. I am convinced that a positive attitude can help you achieve things. It can also help make friends, allies at work, and help you get things done around the house. Being pessimistic or negative will not only cause you to not want to do things but complete them in a mediocre way. That hurts productivity and your bottom line.

Sometimes it really takes a kick in the butt to realize there's a lot to be happy about in life. Go grab yourself an apple and go for a walk on some hiking trails. Fresh air and some nature always gives me some perspective.

I should add - since making these changes not only has my life become more enjoyable, but my bottom line has increased 20%. 2009 has been a GREAT year so far!

Fantastic post, thank you very much. Actually I'm a heavy eater of red meat. I do remember going through a month a few years ago with absolutely no meat in my diet.. So I'm going to follow your advice and make some changes.

I'll try to be positive and upbeat, too. That's also good advice. I'll dig out the book 'The Power of Positive Thinking' which I've got somewhere, in fact.

Thanks again, I will do my best and hopefully get a result like you've seen. Thanks thanks thanks :thumbsup:thumbsup

I must be dating the wrong type of women, for money = almost everything.

So what's missing from your life that you can't buy? Love, family, health???

Tom_PM 03-19-2009 01:49 PM

Every day is a opportunity to learn something new. Doing nothing is easy.. let me testify to that.. and you get what you put into it.. nothing. Change is hard, but has a reward at the end.

LOL.

It really depends on what sucks about your life and how rich you are.

Health issues?

Money can fix a lot of things.. You just have to be creative about it...

missipissi 03-19-2009 01:58 PM

Sometimes a good attitude is all you have. Cheer up brother, things always seem darkest before the dawn. :)

The the 6 hours of sleep depression fix. Set your alarm and only get 6 hours of sleep each night from now on going to sleep and waking up at the same time each day. The first few days will be hard, but you'll adjust and find a new sense of purpose in your life & instant happiness.

uno 03-19-2009 02:35 PM

Also, having been on both sides, money does indeed mean something. Try living without it.

Money, if nothing else, gives you the opportunity to travel, pick up a useless hobby, whatever and the free time to do it in. The more money you make in the least amount of time means more chances to go out, more options for things to do, and lots more.

Diezel Jim 03-19-2009 02:37 PM

Actually, like it or not, money means everything.

Take it from David Mamet's uncanny dialogue in Heist:

GENE HACKMAN: Gold makes the world go 'round.
DELROY LINDO: Some say it's love.
HACKMAN: They're right too. Love of gold.

StuartD 03-19-2009 02:48 PM

When I hated life, I was making more than I am now, worked for no one... had a beach avenue apartment downtown Vancouver, had reached my goals actually. And thus, I was bored.
I felt I had reached the end of everything I wanted to do and therefore had nothing left to live for.

Turns out I was quite wrong as the goals I had were good goals but not really what I wanted in life. For most people, goals are given to you by friends, family.. society. Be successful, get an education, make money, own nice stuff.... and we strive for them because that's what life has taught us we should do.

When I started a family, I had people berate me for losing my freedom, can't travel, can't just sleep with random women, can't just do what ever I want... that's what someone else thinks they need to be happy. Maybe for them it is and good for them for finding it.

I know now what I need to be happy, to want to live my life every day. I just had to find out what it was.

jmcb420 03-19-2009 03:01 PM

Who, you are 100% correct about money. Beyond allowing us to gain ever more material shit, its totaly fucking worthless. It dosen't buy happiness.

I always told my now ex-wife her attitude was the cornerstone of every effort that she would ever make. Put simply, if you go into something thinking the worst then the worst possible outcome is almost guarenteed. Even if you find yourself in a shitty situation that is outside of your control, your attitude and how you look at the situation will dictate how quickly you can take stock of the situation and make it better for yourself.

A teacher I had in highschool one day told me "This too shall pass." I never forgot those words and throughout my life I have silently repeated them to myself when I saw no end to the shit. The shit always comes to an end. The sun always comes back out.

Hell, Bob Marley said it best though: "Every little thing is gonna be alright." Hope you come around soon.

that's BS, changing diet ALONE won't bring happiness to your life

and if it will, then you were never unhappy to begin with :2 cents:

alias 03-19-2009 04:06 PM

If you have money it is easier to change anything about yourself that you want than if you don't.
