What's the best way to make a thumbnail of a mpeg file?
 

I really haven't found a really good way to do this..... does anybody else have an easy way of doing it?

easiest is thumbs+ (plus)

it takes a screen capture of the first frame of each clip. Sometimes this gets some shitty clips if the first second is blank or has no action...

so the next easiest is hiring some 18 year old college student $8 an hour, to open the movies take screenshots and croping them into thumbnails in mspaint.

I used to have all sorts of stupid complicated ways to do this.. But I use BSPlayer now.. It's an "alternate" media player, really simple, plays video, none of the extra crap that WMP has..

One of the features it has is a "frame capture" that works on everything it can play, and NEVER fucks up due to video card settings, or any of that - the shit just works.

Do a google search for it, their page is down and has been for a while.
